"The room was spotless and white bed linen crisp and white. However the overall rating was let down by historic carpet stains in abundance throughout the property. The sash windows either need repairing or replacing and the glass was blown therefore affecting the view. Also one of the windows could not be closed and the others couldn't be opened. The coffee shop within the hotel served great coffee and iced coffee and staff were so nice. The hotel itself just needs a bit of money spent on it to...

"Very new renovated hotel. Everything looks nice and well maintained. However it has no air-conditioning, all you get is just a table fan, me and partner can't sleep for whole night, wake up every hour because of the heat! And the most hilarious thing is the fan making helicopter noises, keep me half awake and dreaming police episodes... Even my little one complained she can't sleep well because the heat! It's not the hottest day yet, can't imagine how can people stays during very hot...

"The previous reviews are outdated. I had a great stay at Harleys. It was very quiet, clean, and the room was big. Self check in was very straightforward and the staff were really helpful. They checked in with me to make sure everything was good, which it was. Very good location, close to shops and train/bus station. I would happily stay again."

"We checked ourselves in and left a couple of hours later (no staff seen). I hadn’t realised I’d booked a room with shared bathroom and the bathroom was on first floor and we were on the second - we only saw one shower and 2 toilets for all the shared rooms. There’s half carpet in the standalone toilet, which is gross. The rooms themselves are fine, a bit rough round the edges. I’m baffled at the positive reviews, it’s very basic and not good value - we chose to drive 2.5 hours home rather than...

"The room [room 10, double en suite] was nothing like the pictures. First you had to lean on the door to get in cos it's too big for the frame. Then once you are in it smelled like a teenage boys room, sweat and lynx. The carpet was badly worn and peeling off the floor, the cheap divan base was broken so the mattress was either springy or wavy, didn't dare actually look at the mattress... Cobwebs around the window show how long since that was cleaned and general bits of wallpaper coming off the...

"The staff were helpful during a very busy time. Parking was adequate. Bar and restaurant service was good and staff manners to be commended. Room was clean but lacked sufficient toiletries, and clothes hangers(thank heaven for M&S plastic sales hangers)."
