Lovely place, we stayed for 1 night as a last minute visit to newquay. Was 30 minutes drive away. Staff was friendly at check in and room was perfect for what we wanted and good value for money. Would definitely stay there again when back in the area. Thank You

Ultra friendly staff!

The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good.. I could not recommend this place a more. The manager who I cannot remember the name of was such a friendly lady and even refunded one of our rooms without us asking as we had a late cancellation..

Lovely comfortable clean room, bit of damp behind sink showing on wall, felt breakfast should be included in price, stayed middle of Cardiff with breakfast included 3 weeks ago, dining area very clean and presentable, back area a bit scruffy, friends had food there the night befor and said it was really good .

Really lovely and classy interiors, room was fantastic with plenty of space and light, bathroom was spacious and clean, staff were helpful and friendly, food was brilliant for breakfast and dinner.

The dining area was lovely, and the breakfast was small, but very good. The bar area was good and there was ample parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although the housekeeping team and waitresses would benefit from some training. The bed was very comfortable, but the bedroom was lacking the niceties. It was however, good value for money. Lampeter itself is very small, and I fear for it, with its loos of the University.

Nice room, comfy bed and great staff. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was hot and tasty. Only one small issue with water pressure in the shower but I would stay again despite that.

Great experience

Lovely service from the moment we set foot in the hotel to leaving from the friendly staff. Check in was quick and easy. Our room on the second floor was clean, spacious and well equipped. The bed was super comfy and the room was quiet at night, even though we overlooked the street. The bathroom was very clean with lovely toiletries. We had an evening meal which was delicious and also breakfast which was equally as good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Pleasant one night stay, rubbish water pressure.

One night stay en route to Cardigan. The single room was spacious enough for me with a big tv, nice bathroom and a nice big window letting in natural light. The floors were a bit creaky in and outside the room and the water pressure wasn't great. Other than that it was a lovely stay with helpful and friendly staff.

My wife’s parents got married in this property 70 years ago, so we decided to stay here as part of our family history trip. The building is from the 1700s but it has been updated and has a ton of charm. The key boxes were all checked: the bed was comfortable, it was quiet at night and the water pressure was good. A full welsh breakfast was included. We also had dinner in the restaurant. It was a bit pricey but tasty. The staff was wonderful: hard working and attentive. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was not great breakfast was poor as staff this were running late due to being locked out of hotel. Water pressure in room was rubbish, bath didn't hold water. Very noisy heating system. Staff were friendly enough hotel was clean and well presented.

Room was in decent condition but being on the front of the building was quite noisy especially with the bells ringing every 15 minutes. Would have been nice if there was actually a member of staff around on check out as the whole bar and kitchen were just left wide open for anyone to help themselves to whatever they wanted

Clean, Cozy, and Full of Charm

Absolutely loved my stay at The Black Lion Royal Hotel. The room and bathroom were spotless and clearly very well looked after. The people at the reception are incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The English breakfast was delicious and freshly made each morning. Plus, the hotel’s pub has such a cute, cozy vibe, perfect for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend!
