Upon arriving to our room we went to turn on the Tv and to our surprise it did not work, we called front desk to have someone come and take a look and the staff that answered asked us to make sure the HDMI cord wasn’t loose. We troubleshooted and still nothing. We called again, and they sent a guy that did the same thing we did and then said, he would get another TV or have them switch us rooms, none of those things happened. Also, the sink was so dirty with hair as if someone had just finished shaving, and water would not drain. Oh, and when you showered, all the water would stay and would not drain until a few minutes after you were done showering. The only plus of this hotel is the location, super close to beach and great restaurants. I also must add that the A/C unit on the window worked great.
We have stayed at El Cordova for the better part of the last 19 years. It used to be better and more accommodating, but management changed a few years ago. Everything was as we expected this year except during our 7-night stay (July 11-18, 2026) there was no hot water for the shower on two separate days. They did credit us a little bit for that inconvenience, but for the cost of the room, one does not expect problems like this. Also, there is a kitchen of a restaurant just below and adjacent to our room, and one morning at 5:00 am there was loud music and singing that we could hear very clearly. Otherwise, the hotel is very family friendly and within walking distance of just about everything you'd want to do in Coronado.

Our room had black mold, a soaking wet carpet and smelt worse than any room I have ever been inside in my life. They refused to move us into a new room or refund. I would never recommend staying there. The location was great but that was about it. Very disappointing and gross.
Old world character was lovely. Location was everything! Across the street from the beach and tons of great restaurants and shopping wothon walking distance.
The area was great, very accessible to the beach and restaurants. There were discount coupons for restaurants we didn’t learn about until we were leaving . Stairs were difficult for older people like me. Construction happening while we were there so it was messy in the courtyard. Room was fine. Plenty cool and clean.

The grand suite is big and spacious. However, it doesn’t have a pleasant smell and also it has bug bed. Both my husband and my child have multiple bites. This suit needs well maintenance.
The hotel looks like an old apartment complex maybe? I did not realize this or notice when I booked it. Not a big deal though, I only would have packed things differently bc there is no elevator to get to the second level rooms. Only stairs, to carry a heavy suitcase and rolling cooler. Whoops.
This hotel is approx a 5 minute walk from the beach and close to all the action of shopping and restaurants. Everything is walkable. We even walked back to the hotel from the Ferry Landing - it was approx a 30 minute walk - basically straight down Orange Ave.
We did not park in the offsite garage for $40/day, we continued to find street parking at 4 hours (very minimal spaces) and 2 hour parking. Parking hours are not in effect on Sundays and legal holidays. Sunday was our first day, so only needed to move the car on Monday before we checked out on Tuesday morning.
We absolutely would stay again. 4-stars for the noisy construction going on that was not discussed at check in or noted in any email. They started EARLY both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Construction was in the middle courtyard.
We had a great 4 night stay in June. Cozy room, comfortable bed. Only negative was the construction of some kind happening outside of our bedroom window every morning. We are assuming renovations. The problem is that the ac unit was in the window, so no way to close the window. Otherwise, great stay.
Great place to stay. The Location is fantastic. Great restaurants and bars all in close and easy walking distance. Pool great for kids. Would definitely sat again.
Be aware 2nd floor rooms have some steep steps getting to room.
Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel hadn’t transferred the Expedia booking into their system, so they didn’t show they had a reservation for us. Took about 30+ minutes to clear that up. Parking was a mess. They assigned a parking spot, but someone was in it. Room was located over some shops and was noisy at night.
The location was excellent, the hotel was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We used the pool, hot tub, laundry, etc. So close to everything-- restaurants, shopping, the beach, rentals of all kinds. There was construction type work going on in the courtyard but it didn't bother us. Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. Would love to stay here again!
The room was very clean and well maintained the bed was cozy, but the property itself is just laid out in an old manner. Live and being well-maintained it's just so old that it's dysfunctional.. There was no elevator for our room. We had two alleyways connecting to our room where people would make noise earlyin the morning. The parking lot is a block away from the hotel. The pool was outdated and the restaurant was being remodeled. You can't beat the location. It's right across from the hotel Del Coronado. There's plenty of little stores and restaurants within walking distance.. there was no ballet or bellhop so you had to unload and haul your own luggage and park your own car a block away for an added fee.
No top sheet on the bed when we checked in. You have to request new towels/sheets and you have to specifically request they make the bed. Charged $30 a day for that “convenience” regardless of whether they do anything. Was not mentioned until check-in. Made our own bed and requested additional towels once: charged 130 dollars for the four days there. Had to ask twice for an itemized invoice of course.
Other than that: great location, Mexican place attached was decent, staff was nice, hot tub was good.

Older Hotel is in a great location. It could use some maintenance and landscaping.
The hotel restaurant is literally right in the middle of the property. There is a supply storage right near the pool and vendors and employees were constantly in and out. We were advised of the ongoing construction with them extending the restaurant but weren’t prepared for the truck parked right outside our window in room 51 at 4:00 am unloading materials.
Overall the room was spacious and clean. The outside area and landscaping coukd be tidied up.
Parking is offsite a few blocks away for a fee.
We have stayed on Coronado many times for years. It has become very touristy. Parking is challenging. El Cordova is very old but still a good value. It can be noisy. Mattress was comfy but shower lacks water pressure. The Brig & Miguel’s are now all about speed and not quality. Would we recommend staying here? Yes, you’re walking distance to the beach and right across the street from the Del.
Overall the stay was good with an attentive staff and greet Mexican food restaurant. Disappointment was hot tub was out of order and this is what we were looking forward to during our stay.
We booked this because we needed a two bedroom unit close to the beach in Coronado that was somewhat affordable. It was very close to the beach, as well as shopping in Coronado, with many good restaurants all within walking distance. The room was old. Smelled old, too. Kitchenette and living room were very dated. Beds were quite comfortable, however, and nicely appointed bedrooms. Parking was a nightmare. Street parking was almost non-existent and their garage was too far for my handicapped brother to walk. Charged for it, but don’t remember how much they said. The restaurant attached was under construction, so had to walk around that going back and forth to room. Very small pool that no one used, but it was clean. It’s a cute property that just needs some updating, but a decent price for the location.
