"It's a lovely setting where the hotel is situated and a place you might not be aware of even if you know the area well. We stayed mostly because a lot of the large chain places were charging a lot more for the weekend and I didn't mind driving to the event we were attending. "Unfortunately, the experience in MacDonald Craxton Wood was not the best. Starting with our room not being ready for the 3pm check in. Our room then was not the cleanest. The jug of water was also not fresh with the water from the last guest still being in it, lack of plugs in the rooms and the TV was not smart. We then discovered the next day after returning from a busy day out the rooms aren’t serviced unless you request it. Now reception did give us fresh towels when asked but didn’t...

"We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable."
