"The requested room was an ensuite, it had a toilet and bath , no shower which might be problematic for some. The room didn't have a fan which meant I had to have the windows open all night which was noisy. I paid for a basic room and that's what I got."

"We stayed in a ground floor twin room at the Cromwell Arms during the heatwave of July 2026. The room was pleasant, the beds comfortable. Whilst there was an additional heater in the wardrobe, a fan would have been gratefully received. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. All the staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant. Overall a good place to stay."

"This was my second stay here whilst visiting my son at Exeter University. Moto Velo is <20 mins from the Uni Campus, This place caught my eye as it allows dogs to stay at a reasonable price, much better than the ridiculous amount some of the hotels in Exeter were charging. Plus it comes with free convenient parking. Check-in is faceless with easy to follow instructions. "I had booked a 4 night stay for some r&r choosing to stay in the manor house. My 1st day there was a wedding being held at the Manor House, some facilities not available or restricted. I had not been informed of this event, my day of r&r sadly not forthcoming. An outdoor pool was not available, in the middle of a heatwave, apparently our of season in July. The rooms I was able to enter in the manor house are tired and need a refresh, my room had black mould in the bathroom, a ceiling extractor...

"The hotel needs air conditioning in all bedrooms as the rooms were too hot. There were no fridges in the bedrooms to keep water cold etc which was disappointing as we had to ask for glasses of ice to do this. Staff were exceptional and the spa and swimming pool were really good. A great location on the edge of Dartmoor with access to some great walks."

"I had a really wonderful time staying here. The breakfast was very tasty, the garden was beautiful and I felt really looked after. I would definitely come back again! Only small issue was the parking. Luckily it is not busy so there is parking at the back but I can feel this might come to issue since it's a small car park and you dont want to park on the side of the road but tbh this is very minor and it's a bit nitpicking as I have really enjoyed my stay."
