"I took a recommendation from a friend who enjoyed a family stay here. The room was spacious, the hotel is clean, and the staff are lovely. Having a mini kitchen is really helpful, and there's a shop almost next door. Plus, there was a social happy hour with complimentary drinks and nibbles. It's a good view overlooking the water, but you can hear the traffic from the road on the other side. I could also hear a hairdryer in another room when I was in the corridor. "A well equipped room with an excellent bed, large TV, fridge and good shower. The room was tastefully decorated and of a decent size. I really appreciated the welcome gifts of biscuits, water and milk too. Breakfast was excellent and a very generous portion. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. I would also recommend the evening meals and good selection of ales - both of which were high quality. "

"Overall this was a great location directly across the street from Cardiff Castle. It was frantic because of the annual half-marathon attended by 29000 people (which we were not aware of at the time of booking) and the lifts were broken, but the front desk staff were extremely helpful. The room was large and everything worked as it should, but the rooms are showing their age a bit. They needed more staff at dinner but food was quite good."
