"The breakfast is good for the level of hotel. Very convenient location. The property itself is a bit run down. Big scratches on the furniture and on the wall. No shelf to put your clothes. (Maybe because it is a handicap room -- we didn't ask for it)."

"Great central location. Room was clean and there was plenty of coffee and tea. The room was very hot and stuffy even though it wasn’t that hot and the windows only opens about 10 cm, but one wouldn’t stay open. We had to have the air con on all night. Also had a lot of noise from the theatre as they broke up the set abd loaded it onto a lorry at 1.00 am abd then noise from the refuse bin sprague place from about 5 am. We didn’t sleep well."

"2nd time I’ve stayed here. Asked them to preserve me breakfast and the staff said they would as I was working lates. I even paid for the breakfast. On both occasions the day staff denied I ever had that conversation with the night shift. Really poor communication and very little compassion. Left feeling scammed out of quite a bit of money."

"The staff were so friendly, so helpful--ordering us a taxi, explaining about the Oxford Bus to Heathrow, etc. The concept of turning a prison into a hotel--wow! Our room was fabulous. The whole setting and what has been done with this enormous golden stone building is so imaginative and fun. Great location for walking/shopping in Oxford. Close to everything."

"Great location. Friendly staff. Good sized room although it was up 3 flights of stairs and no lift. Plenty of coffee and tea making options and biscuits a nice touch. Good sized bathroom. Good value price taking into account how expensive accommodation in Oxford is."
