Great Location for Oxford

The staff were all friendly and helpful. the hotel is well appointed and very clean. A great location only a short walk from the lovely Iffley village and lock on the Thames

we stayed here for a couple of nights whilst seeing a show in Oxford. The hotel is in a quiet location approx 1.8 miles from Oxford City centre. There is a very pleasant walk along the Thames into the city (takes approx 30 mins)or the hotel is well served with several buses. The staff were very friendly, the room was nice and breakfasts were also very good. If returning to Oxford, i would more than happily use the hotel again

Don’t pay for the upgrade!

Dirty carpets, broken shower. Supposed to be an upgraded room but really wish I hadn’t paid the extra. Bloody good breakfast though.

Family road trip

Quite and peaceful

Clean and tidy hotel on the outskirts of Oxford. It is an easy walk to the centre and we preferred the location. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with an outside terrace. Would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed my overnight stay in the Mercure in Oxford as was given a warm welcome, all queries answered and the staff I came into contact with were exemplary. I enjoyed staying in the original house of Francis Howard Binkerton. My only slight criticism was the grounds could benefit from a tidier appearance . I would recommend this hotel as I really enjoyed my stay . Please pass on my thanks.

Good stay for work

Stayed recently for work purposes and close proximity to buildings. Hotel in a nice peaceful location. Room was very pleasant. Good level of cleanliness throughout. Reception, bar and cleaning staff always happy to assist with enquiries. Had breakfast one morning, options included hot options and continental choices. Would definitely stay again

Short but sweet

We enjoyed our one night stay here. The location is great, a nice quiet picturesque area with central oxford walking distance down the river. We checked in quite late so were given a basement room, which was fine except there were only 2 bedside lights so we found it quite dark, but for one night this wasnt a big problem. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable so for one night that was all we needed! I would definitely stay here again if I were visiting Oxford.

A lovely hotel. John on reception was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was comfortable and relaxing. The room was comfortable but unfortunately for me with low vision, the lighting was frustratingly poor. I also found the wet room mean't you needed to put shoes on to re-enter each time after showering. These two minor points might not be an issue for others so I'd still recommend the hotel.
