Great location, poor facilities.

Check-in and the reception service were fine. The breakfast in the morning was great. The room, however, reeked of smoke and was really dated. I’m not sure how they justify €200 per night. The location is lovely and great for a restful break. We stopped off for a day off on a trip around Germany as we knew it would be hot. We wanted to use the leisure facilities, which cost an extra €11 each per day. Not sure why they’re charging guests this. The leisure facilities are really poorly run. The food and drink there is awfully overpriced and limited. Eg. The only soft drink they had available was Coke. No other options. We ordered at the bar and it arrived about 20 minutes later at our loungers by the pool. Then the sauna etc. One positive here, the steam room was great. However, they don’t turn the sauna on until someone wants to use it. We were told it takes 20 mins to heat up so we came back 20 mins later and sat chatting to a guy in the COLD sauna for about 15 mins. It was still completely cold as the sauna is huge. No way it could heat up in 20 mins. Overall, this place has huge potential and is situated by a lovely lake. However, it seems to be poorly managed and represents poor value for money for its guests.

Ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt geht leider zu Ende – wir haben die Zeit im Inselhotel sehr genossen! Das Hotel liegt traumhaft am Templiner See, hat eine wunderbare schwimmende Sauna, von der aus man sich direkt im See abkühlen kann. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und qualitativ hochwertig- besonders können wir auch das Restaurant empfehlen - wir waren an 3 Abenden dort zu Gast.

Super ruhig gelegenes Hotel mit wirklich ausgezeichnetem Personal, leckerem und reichhaltigen Frühstück. Die Küche der angeschlossenen Restaurants ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wellness kostet extra, ist einen Besuch wert. Komme gerne wieder.

Schönes Hotel in ruhiger, schöner Umgebung direkt am Wasser mit schöner Terrasse. Leider kostet die Nutzung des Schwimmbades extra. Das war sehr enttäuschend bei gehobenem Preisniveau der Zimmer.

Virkelig fint hotel. Ligger lidt udenfor Potsdam men i ok afstand til centrum til fods og med cykelfærgen. Også fint at opleve området på cykel, som kan lejes ved hotellet. Venlig og hjælpsom personale , både i receptionen og i restaurant samt morgenmadsområde. Spa og massager var også i top. Det eneste der undrede os var at der ikke var “ equipment” i badeværelse. Vi rejser meget og der er altid vatpind, lotion mm på værelse, dog ikke her. Det er dog småting i forhold til oplevelsen.

Traumhaft schöne Lage mit leicht bitteren Beigeschmack. Warum muss man in solch einem tollen Hotel den Parkplatz, Spa und andere Dinge Extra zahlen. Gleichwertige Hotels verpacken das anders und günstiger ....HP Angebote wären toll .... Trotz allem mit einem schmunzeln 😏 👍Weiterempfehlung

Cosy hotel for a relaxed stay

We had a nice three night trip to Potsdam as a couple. This hotel is located on a quiet Hermannswerder island which is easily reachable by bus from main railway station or the city centre. Our standard two-bed room was clean. The room looked over the parking lot in front of the hotel, which was surprisingly noisy from early on in the morning – in the first night, around 5 to 6 in the morning there was a clattering truck (probably bringing food to the hotel restaurant’s kitchen), so one of us could not sleep properly after. It was summer time so we needed to keep the window open since there was no air conditioning in the room, which of course added to the noisyness, but even with the windows closed it wasn’t very quiet. Also, in the morning people start to pack their cars before checking out so the rattle of the luggage starts. All these are of course normal chores at a hotel, but next time I would choose a room from the lake side of the hotel. Windows had a mosquite net btw, which was great! The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast had quite nice selection (missed more fresh vegetables). We spent some hours by the outdoor pool, which was clean and quiet. We would’ve wanted to try the Sauna by the lake and take a dip in the lake, but the day we we’re going to, there was blue-green algae in the water (at least to us it looked like this harmful bacteria), so we did not want to risk it. All in all we had a very nice and relaxed stay, and will come back some time!
