Rural delight.

Lovely room in a great building and grounds. Warm welcome but arrival timings limited. Excellent breakfast but provision of coffee milk etc for the rooms could be better.

Our first impressions were shocking so i will not embarrass anyone by elaborating. The room was nice although there was no curtians so no pricacy when walking to thr bathroom. Breakfast did not have much choose and no gluten free options. There was no restaurant so we had to drive to a nearby village where the food was just okay.

Wir haben das Hotel wegen der tollen Hotelbilder gebucht. Leider sind die Einrichtungsgegenstände im gebuchten Zimmer bzw. die sanitären Einrichtungen einer Burg nicht würdig. Nachts hat es aus dem Abluss nach XXX gerochen und morgens hat der Hund die ganze Zeit gekläfft. Im WC-Bereich gibt es gesprungene Fliesen und das Bett wackelt. Das Frühstück was OK. Für den bezahlten Preis kann man eine bessere Qualität erwarten.

Ideaal voor een tussenstop op weg naar het zuiden, gelegen in een prachtige en rustige omgeving. Inchecktijd is een enkel indicatie als je eerder wil komen kan je dat aangeven.

Wij kwamen een dag te vroeg bij deze accomodatie aan. Aangekomen voor een gesloten hek werden wij via de intercom te woord gestaan. Wij vroegen om een alternatief in de buurt. Hier werd niet op ingegaan. Een kop koffie kon er na een lange rit niet af. Vervolgens zijn wij om het complex heen gelopen. Het viel ons erg tegen. Er was niets te doen. Van een Chateau was o.i. geen sprake. Vervolgens zijn wij ca. 6 km terug gereden naar het dichtsbijzijnde dorp. Restaurants, meer eethuisjes earen dicht. Slechts een Cafe cq Baserie was open. We hebben daar koffie gedronken. De sfeer en de bediening was niet prettig. Het was een gokcafe op het gebied van paarden rennen. Om ca. 12.00 u ‘s middags was met al flink aan de alcohol. Toen we terug naar de auto liepen was er een stomdronken man die om de auto heen draaide. Wij vonden het een geluk bij een ongeluk dat wij een dag te vroeg waren. Gezien het voorgaande hebben wij besloten om maar door te rijden maar Luxenburg. Daar hebben wij een perfecte dag gehad bij Chateau ‘d Urspelt.

I loved this place. A great stop off on our way back to the UK from the Alps. i could not recommend this place enough as an experience. But it is a B&B at the end of the day so no bar, restaurant reception desk on site. The lovely lady booked an AMAZING restaurant for us in the next village 15 minute drive away. and we had a stash of wine for the room for our return.
