The property overlooked the river and temples. The temples were all lit up at night and the view was stunning. The hotel was within walking distance of The Grand Palace and ferry stops. There was a really lovely rooftop bar too.

We stayed at Riva Arun in February 2024 and it was fantastic. Great location on the river with an amazing view of the gorgeous Wat Arun and all the colorful river boat traffic at night. So much to do nearby, restaurants, shops, nightlife! We were surprised to get a room upgrade that included a beautiful terrace overlooking the Chao Phraya. Staff was wonderful and rooms luxurious. Would stay here again no question!!!

By the pics online I thought the hotel was right on the water, it is not. There is a restaurant in front of it. The hotel rooftop view is the view online. Great view from up there. Staff was helpful, room was clean and the shower was great. No problem getting hot water.

This is the very best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, in all my travels around Asia. The staff are incredibly kind and guest-obsessed. As a boutique hotel with only 25 rooms, they are able to learn about each guest, like remembering 2 nights later that hubby & I like our cocktails with less/ no added sweetness. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and the housekeeping team keep the room spotless. The crisp, freshly pressed bed linens are sure to impress! Would live here if I could. ❤️

A Great Hotel at a Good Price
The hotel is very clean, the staff are polite, attentive and always greet you with a smile. The location is excellent if, like me you want to see the Grand Palace, The Reclining Buddha and other nearby temples. The location is safe. I would definitely stay here again.

This one is special because it is situated across the river from the amazing Wat Arun, and the room I had looked directly at it, lit up at night, it’s an amazing way to ease into your Bangkok trip. It’s also conveniently located a 2 min walk to Wat Pho where you can catch the reclining Buddha and other neat temple and/or river taxi attractions. Special mention for the staff who were very kind and helpful!

This is a great small hotel, the premium jacuzzi rooms are superb. The only letdown is check-in, it took almost hale an hour. There were at least six staff there more interested in serving iced coffee. I had to ask FOUR times before someone finally did what was needed, three minutes work took half an hour, very poor front of house with staff acting like children and no-one knowing what anyone was doing.

For tourist purposes, this was a great location with most of the main tourist sights within walking distance. The room is smaller than it appeared in the pictures - especially the bathroom. I was not a fan of all of the mirrors but I guess it does help make the room reel a little bigger. Our room did have an amazing view of Wat Arun across the river which is why I am giving this place 4 stars instead of three. It is located on little one-way street, and it seemed like we had to walk past a lot of garbage on the block to get to our hotel. In hindsight, I would have made the taxi driver take us to the front door of the hotel when we first arrived so we would have had a better first impression. The room was cleaner than it felt at first too. There was discoloration on the door and frame which may have been just a poor choice in paint colors. I wiped the room down with cleanup sheets, and it was still pretty clean afterwards. The toilet and shower in the small bathroom are separated by a shower curtain which also looked dirty. With all of the negative stuff out of the way, I have to say that the staff was amazingly helpful with any questions about the hotel, restaurants, and visiting the nearby sites. Speaking of restaurants, there two really good ones right across the street; Supanniga and Rongos. I have to say that if I were to return to Bangkok, I would try to find a more modern hotel in a different location.

Amazing place! Unbeatable location with fantastic views of Wat Arun. We wanted to stay here when we returned to Bangkok but they were all filled up so the staff helped us find and alternative option and even transported some of our luggage for us. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop in the morning was delicious!

The location was perfect. Walkable to the temples and palace. Not far from the train station. The staff was great. I didn't exchange my currency at the airport so I asked the guys at the front desk and they were happy to assist. The room was beautiful. Small but had a beautiful view. My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay.

Average to Above Average with very limited dining.
Nice hotel, beautiful views of Wat Arun & Presidential Palace. Located on river in a very dirty area with few dining options. On Saturday & Sunday, not a single front desk staffer spoke a word of English. Nice, but probably many better choices in Bangkok.

The hotel was right next to three of the major sites in Bangkok (Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Grand Palace). All three were in walking distance. Perfect place to explore old Bangkok. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff were beyond friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, easy walk from Sanam Chai station. Our room had a great view of the highly entertaining Chao Phraya river. We enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for both breakfast and dinners. Also close to Grand Palace. Glad we chose the Riva Arun!

It was a lovely hotel and staff were pleasant however having turned up to the property it wasn’t like the photos. I thought this was right on the river whilst it is literally a short walk you are surrounded by small local shops and 2 overprices restaurants over the road. It’s in a good location as we did an excursion and we only had to meet over the road but it wasn’t how the photos portray but nevertheless it was still a pleasant stay.

Top class service from the staff. An issue with the first room meant I was immediately moved to another of the same type, premium jacuzzi suite. The whole stay was just amazing and relaxing, just what I needed. The view of Wat Arun of course stunning. My only small moan would be that the wonderful rooftop restaurant was always somewhat chaotic. The staff always seemed in a flutter, getting your first drink seems to take a long time, and food service can be very slow...there are only 15 ish 2 seater tables so the reason for the above mentioned is not obvious. Having said that, the staff are very helpful, the Thai fusion food is excellent but the limited menu seemed to run out of some items very early in the evening. Overall definitely worth a visit, I certainly will stay again. It beats a lot of the high priced hotels on the river in BKK

WONDERFUL! We really enjoyed our stay at Riva Arun. The location was great and that was the priority when we were planning our trip. We planned on being out of the room and exploring most of the time so the hotel amenities were not a real concern. Riva Arun proved to be top notch in every way! We had a beautiful, well-appointed room but what made the stay truly memorable was the staff. Everyone was friendly and always helpful. I would say that they went out of their way, except it was obvious that this is how they treat every guest.

The property is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The studio room we had was very small with little room for our two pieces of luggage and two carry-one. I’d stay here again if a larger room were available. The property has fantastic views of Wat Arun and the rooftop restaurant is wonderful.

This hotel was great the staff were also great and very helpful, the room was nice and its an easy walk to Wat Pho temple the Grand Palace and short river crossing to Wat Arun. You can walk through the flower markets and make your way to Ratchawong pier and arrive at Iconsiam Mall by boat but the best part was having dinner on the rooftop at sunset with a stunning view of Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Chao Phraya River.

The location of this property is really great. Most attractions are within walking distance or a short taxi or tuc-tuc ride away. Lots of dining options around and the hotel's restaurant is also an excellent choice. The staff is excellent and very helpful, especially Tobi at the front desk. Great hotel to spend your time in Bangkok.

Perfect location to fully enjoy the old town bangkok! Wat Pho and the Grand Palace are within walking distance, and so is the boat to Wat Arun. Also, their rooftop restaurant has the best sunset view of the temples and great food/cocktail!
