Bang Na Travel Guide

About Bang Na

At the very south end of Bangkok, sitting at the east edge of the Chao Phraya River is a large foreign community and the area where many of the city’s international schools can be found. Bang Na became its own district in 1998 and since then it has grown immensely. It can be reached by taking the BTS Sukhumvit Line, and can be accessed from three stops along the line; Udom Suk, Bang Na and Bearing.

Don’t Miss

Bang Na is not a highly visited area, though there are some great things to see and do here, as well as a variety of accommodation options.

If you are an outdoors lover try these; play golf at the Bangna Navy Golf Course, practice your swing at one O one, practice your kicking at Skykick Arena, watch a match at The Primary Football Field or go wakeboarding at Taco Lake. If you are travelling with the kids, splash around at the waterpark on the rooftop of CentralPlaza Bangna.

For the cultural side of Bang Na visit; Wat Bangna Nok, Wat Sri Iam and Wat Phong Ploy Viriyaram. You can also see what is going on at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC Bangna).

Restaurants and Bars

No one should go to Bang Na without having a look at Royal Dragon Restaurant, which at 33,800 square metres is the largest restaurant in the world and boasts a menu with over 1,000 items. CentralPlaza Bangna has a food hall with numerous booths to choose food from, while a good selection of bars can be found in the Udom Suk area of Bang Na.

Shopping

Bang Na is not known as one of Bangkok’s main shopping areas, although no shopaholic will be bored here. There are a few big shopping malls, like CentralPlaza Bangna and Mega Bangna, both of which are much more than just a shopping mall. CentralPlaza Bangna is home to 37 floors of offices, a language school, a health care clinic and heaps of shops. Plus, there is a waterpark on the rooftop. Mega Bangna houses an Ikea, Robinson department store, a cinema, Home Pro and Big C supermarket.
