"The room was clean and big enough for comfortable stay. Cafes and groceries are nearby just walking distance away. Good place to stay for a weekend escape from Melbourne. "

"The old character and decor of the hotel. The fantastic, comfortable rooms. Like stepping back in time. Fantastic value for money in a beautiful historic city."

"Breakfast was perfect. Good coffee. Good value as well. Dining was super convenient because of the direct connection between the motel and the Red Lion Hotel next door. I could not get the TV connected to the internet (maybe instructions would help). Otherwise really excellent service, spotless and well maintained venues with genuinely friendly attentive staff. Indoor pool, sauna and games area all excellent. Very impressed with the motel and Red Lion hotel. Thoroughly recommended."
"The hotel was beautifully renovated with many original fittings. It is in a great location for shopping and dining, with all the major stores within walking distance. The staff were very nice and replied promptly to some questions I had before check in. I was only there overnight and didn't get up in time for breakfast but the menu looked great. My only very minor negative comment would be that the bed was very creaky. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit Ballarat. "
