"We enjoyed everything at the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but I didn't mind that too much - it added to the charm because everything worked absolutely fine (shower, TV, kettle). The dining room is very grand and the food exceptional. The staff in the restaurant were super. Most of the staff elsewhere in the hotel were very good and welcoming. "The hotel is old (but interesting) and needs a lick of paint here and there but the room was very clean. Bathroom with shower very good. Very nice double bed too. Breakfast was buffet style, was good though no fruit. No problem with Wi-Fi. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Excellent location for eateries and seeing old Southampton. Good value and would stay there again. "
