"The hotel is in a small town, so our expectations were not the greatest, but this place knocked it out of the park! The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and the location was great for all of our side trips to VT, MA and northern NY. Staying local near Caroga and Canada Lakes was also great. Hiking, kayaking, the race track at Saratoga, Baseball Hall of Fame all less than a 2 hour drive! Highly recommend!!"

"The room was very clean and cozy with a beautiful view of the lake! We sat on the beach and watched the sunset! Relaxing on the porch was just what we needed! Beds were very comfortable!"

"I reserved a cabin, upon arrival they said the original reservation wasn’t available and I was given a room. Cleanliness was ok, no problems. Room had dark walls with only 3 low wattage bulbs in living area, couldn’t even see well enough to read. No access code given for wifi, and office was only open from 3 to 8. No way of asking anyone for password, so no wifi. Worst of all when trying to take a shower found no hot water at all. Waited until morning, still no hot water. Plus lawn was a foot...

"There were some pros and cons. The construction was a huge disappointment. In the addition of having to drive and walk though the construction areas (mud and maybe nails), we also had to hear the noise in the evening and early morning. We should’ve been notified or at least offered a discount because of the inconvenience. The private beach was nice, but there were no towels because they ran out. Be prepared to bring some from the hotel. No ventilation in the bathroom, toilet paper isbetween...

"I feel like this is a true hidden gem. We honestly had no idea what to expect and were completely blown away. So much so that ee extended our stay just to continue enjoying the excellent hospitality."

"It was really bleh. I was in room 12, i paid extra for the jacuzzi tub and didn't even use it, it didn't look clean. The bathroom has a lower ceiling, if you're 6' and over chances are you dont fit in the shower. The amenities were bad. The carpet in the room should be removed. If anything ask for room 1 to 11. In 12 you are in a renovated garage, you have two rooms over your head and you are located in the center of a parking lot. I would not book again. The check in is all via texts so thats...

"Beautiful property on the lake. Check in was slow and they were behind schedule, which was frustrating. However, they gave us free breakfast vouchers, which helped. The restaurant was great, we ended up eating there twice. It’s also one of the only waterfront places to eat, as most of downtown isn’t waterfront. It’s a quick walk to downtown, but it’s hilly at points. It was nice to relax by the lake and watch the sunset, and enjoy the firepits at night. There’s also a cute ice cream place next...

"I stayed at Alpine Lodge for two nights and paid over $700 for what was advertised as a "Superior King" room. Don't be fooled by the name—this is essentially a regular, modest motel room. There is no reception desk. When you arrive, you can't even access your room until you receive a text or email with a link, complete the online registration, and then wait for the door code. "I have stayed at Hot Sara before and enjoyed it. This time, however, we were placed in the "annex" section. The room was terrible - we nicknamed it "the dungeon". Little tiny windows, bare bulb overhead lighting, inadequate bulb-type bedside lighting. We had a suite and it was the least luxurious thing I have ever stayed in.
