"The Bannister Hotel is very conveniently situated for access to Witwatersrand University, where I was doing some research in archives. On arrival, my first impression was discouraging because of people hanging around outside, but the room was good and comfortable and I settled in well. Overall I enjoyed my stay. "So this is an apartment complex not a hotel. I did turn up very early and after enjoying breakfast in the insight restaurant was accommodated 4 hrs before the check-in time. Reception staff are professional and friendly. The apartment is really nice and overall i was very happy with my stay, there was a couple of minor maintenance issues i found with the room but nothing i need to bring to the attention of the staff. Very basic amenities provided, so take a full wash kit. The on site...

"This place is nothing as advertised and just a disappointment all around. If you are simply looking for a bed to sleep in and nothing more then it is fine. But the rooms are old and look as though they are hardly taken care of. It felt as though I was at a distant family member's house who wasn't prepared for me to stay the night."

"Not so good as they didn't even accommodate us. They indicated that they don't use Hotels for bookings. I stated arguing even after showing them proof of payment they just refused to accommodate us. I will appreciate to be refunded as I experienced such experience for the first time in my life. "
