Fantastic location minutes from the center and easy to get to. The breakfast was amazing and the staff super. We had the alpine view double and it was spacious and great view of the Matterhorn! Definitely would come back!

Nice location - not on a busy street but within a 5-10 min walk to shops and ski lifts. Feels like a ski chalet and breakfast was fresh and delicious. Service was spot on. We’ll definitely be returning!

It was a wonderful place for our family to enjoy Christmas. The suite with loft was perfect to give our kids extra space. The staff was very kind and helpful with all requests, from hiking suggestions to dinner reservations.

Clean rooms! Lovely balcony- we choose the room with the view to the Matterhorn and it did not disappoint in the morning and day and night! Bedroom and bathroom are modern. Best breakfast lay out and the coffee perfect! Best coffee in the whole trip! Staff friendly and helpful! Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, short walk to the ski lifts of Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Amazing views and rid up there for both skiers and non- skiers! Complimentary electric shuttle to hotel from train and return.

Very pleasant

We ere very pleasant with the family oriented owners. We checked in early without having any questions instead, they upgraded our room to the suites. That was a nice surprise. All the equipment had been new and clean. They were above expectations and very nice and kind to us with the hospitality. We would like to come back soon!

The Swiss Chalet coverted hotel had all the amenities giving us a comfortable stay. The location and ambience was good giving us peace and tranquility. It was walkable to the Cable car station that takes us to Matterhorn glacier paradise. They provides us with a taxi back to the station. We were not aware and paid for the taxi to go the hotel on arrival. Taxi's are expensive.

Nice room for me on the third floor. You can pretty much see the whole matterhorn which is the part matters the most for travellers. The room is clean with all drinks included in the fridge and the bottom of the still water bottle has a matterhorn-shaped and I am very delighted seeing and be able to have it for free. breakfast was delightful and various dishes supplied. Shuttle bus picked us up from and to the train station which is very nice. Although I have waited about 45 mins for the pick-up at the beginning. But I saw the construction in the town so I guess it was just a occasion. The overall experience was really delightful. I am very happy that staff has told me to go on the gornergrat at the first day because the weather was very very nice on the day. I would have missed it as it was raining the day after. Overall highly recommended!

Awesome staff and hotel. Wonderful room with patio and close to some incredible restaurants. Lift to Matterhorn was a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise with the highest quality and original items you could want. We would stay here again without question….

This is an excellent hotel in Grindelwald. Wide variety of breakfast options including omelette station. Dinner was good albeit not cheap. Unfortunately, the guest room lighting was exceptionally poor and was definitely the worst lightening I ever experienced in a quality hotel. With the few available lights the room was nearly dark.

Stayed at Hotel Chesa Valese for 5 nights recently and overall had a very good experience. There was a mix-up with the pickup time at first, but the staff were great and made up for it, so no complaints there. We ended up with what seemed like a bigger, more spacious room with loads of storage, and even a partial view of the Matterhorn tip, which was a nice surprise. Only issue in the room was with the plug sockets. All of them were Swiss three-pin. I brought standard EU two-pin plugs which usually work fine (they worked on the train), but for some reason they didn’t fit here. Reception gave us two adapters straight away, which was really helpful. Breakfast officially starts at 7:30am, which felt a bit late, but they let us eat at 7am one morning when we had to leave early. That flexibility was appreciated. The spa and sauna were excellent and definitely one of the highlights. The staff were always very helpful throughout our stay, which really made a difference. Only real downside was the WiFi. It wouldn’t work with a VPN, which was frustrating since I prefer not to use open networks. Luckily I had a data SIM so I managed, but it’s something to be aware of.
