They are militant about taking your shoes off here, we loved the free dessert bar, but overall the hotel was absolutely packed with tourists and kind of crazy. The staff, however, went above and beyond to take care of every need we had. The rooms are small for us Americans but the bed was comfortable. "

"The Hotel's shuttle picked us up at the train station. There's not too much within walking distance. We splurged for the delux room with private onsen. It was fun to have a suite with classic Japanese flair ... bamboo floor mats, sliding panel paper doors, etc. Nice view of the lake."

"Lovely room for our family of five. The kids had a fun time sleeping on the futon mats on the first floor. Steps away from the Nanzen-ji temple which we visited early in the morning for some peaceful time. The walk along the canal was also great during cherry blossom season."

"Great property and well kept grounds. The onsen was fantastic. Welcome drink and breakfast were nice touches. They set up a baby crib and baby bedding and blanket for us, which was perfect. Only draw back is the location is a 10-15 minute walk to train station and restaurant area. They also did not have room for us for dinner in the hotel lobby "

The dinner and breakfast were both delicious, the breakfast being a buffet that had very many options in case you are a picky eater. Both of the private onsens were also very nice "
