"I stayed 2 nights at the Devonshire Hotel. Staff very polite and helpful. My room was very clean and large. Bed was comfortable. In all a very pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel."

We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. "Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "

"Very old property with upgrades so you have to expect some issues. - small rooms narrow corridors no lift small shower. Bed was great undulating floors made you feel drunk but I don’t drink so…. Worst problem was lack of parking. And it’s a long way away"

"Entrance hall was welcoming but stair carpet to upper floors needs cleaning. Room was large and bright. Voile curtain had a large rip in it, door was difficult to lock with the key when leaving the room for the day. A comfortable chair instead of the chaise lounge would have been more comfortable. Shower was large and worked well, care needed on wet floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Aside from the room that is extremely hot as we were given the room that os facing directly the afternoon sun so it’s unbearably hot though we didn’t bother to escalate it anymore cause we are out most of the day anyway the rest of the service ,like the staff ,facilities and location are really good ."

"Good choice for the price range. We booked a double room for one night in April for 41 GBP. The check in was smooth and reception staff was friendly. Bed was comfy and the hot shower after the 14 km seven sisters hike was a relief. Negative points: The room is a bit small (which we didn’t really mind as we only used it to sleep overnight).
