We were “selected” for an upgrade “offered” for an additional £20 but upon checking this it was the usual rate on Expedia, so hardly an offer! "The room was okay. This was a remodel of an older hotel. The lobby was nice, the exterior was nice, but the room had been smoked in the past, and once that is baked into the walls and carpets, it never comes out. I can always tell because I’m very sensitive to cigarette smoke. The caulk job in the bathroom left some to be desired. The check-in gent was very kind and efficient.
