We stayed at the Grand Canal Elegant Suite and yes it is pricey, however you get what you paid for. The room, or rather, rooms, are wonderfully, elegantly, and luxuriously decorated. Look out for the hidden tv in the gilded mirror frame in the sitting room, and one inside the elegant walnut closet in the bedroom, not that you'd waste time watching tv with the views you have, being right on the Grand Canal itself.
The suite has no less than four Juliet Balconies with double windows opening to the canal. Imagine the number of photos we ended up with. I honestly can't think of anything to fault the suite or the hotel. Breakfast could be slighlty enhanced but I'm nit picking here really.
The location is also perfect, minutes from the railway station and close to all sights.
Most importantly, the staff are wonderful. Alessandro at the reception has been fantastic. That goes for everyone else whose names I can't remember, sorry. People make places, and the team at Hotel Canal Grande are a perfect example of that.
A big thank you, and we will be back!..
