"This was one of the prettiest places we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was delicious and personalised, wonderfully renovated pub and hotel rooms. Staff were really friendly and great pub to enjoy a drink or eat in. Comfortable, quiet and extremely relaxing with added bonus of bath and sash windows which opened to look out at the front of the property. PERFECT!!"

"The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"The copper castle was an amazing place to stay, clean, comfortable, staff were amazing, children loved the animals and collecting egg's from the chickens in the morning. Owner's were very helpful and accommodating, will definitely be coming back for another stay."

"The White House end of the hotel is lovely. Sadly we were in a different part where the rooms were tired and ultra basic. Our room stank of vomit, the mattress was very old and uncomfortable, we could feel the springs in the bed. We only had one towel and one toilet roll for two of us sharing a double room. The staff were kind but lacked an understanding of hospitality, in particular they were confused when serving dinner. Two meals came out wrong, then were corrected before being taken away,...

"Visited on Monday 15 June. No staff to check in, just a door bell to security they then let you in to get your key from a key safe inside. No dinner or bar on Monday nights so went to the pub over the road. Double Room petite and bijou but adequate. Left before breakfast so did not speak to any staff during our stay!!!! On our previous visit we did have a very nice breakfast. Recommend it but don’t expect to be pampered, more like an Air B&B at least on a Monday or Tuesday."

"The room was dirty and the furniture was very worn and tatty. I checked in at 9 pm and the hotel was clearly pretty empty. Breakfast was very small and expensive. My son went golfing in the morning, but despite this very rude front desk staff member kicked me out of my room at 11am wanting to 50 GBP to stay another couple of hours. There were silverfish bugs in the bathroom. If you are used to higher standards, avoid this hotel."
