"The property's location was highly advantageous. The staff generally exhibited a high level of professionalism and helpfulness, with the exception of the late-night/early-morning shift. We encountered an issue where a member of our party was locked out of one of our three rooms. While I encountered some difficulty obtaining a replacement key due to my name not being registered for that specific room, I acknowledge the validity of this policy. The cleanliness of the room could be improved, as I observed some chip crumbs on the floor; however, I recognize the challenges inherent in maintaining pristine conditions at all times. The amenities were satisfactory. We opted out of daily room cleaning and requested towels, toilet paper, and coffee, which occasionally experienced delays in delivery. On a positive note, the staff provided exceptional assistance when a member of our group sustained an injury, offering crutches and a wheelchair, which I consider a significant value-added service. Furthermore, the concierge service was exemplary, providing excellent guidance when consulted. The availability of a swimming pool and sauna was an additional welcome feature."

"The staff at RHO were great! They answered any questions I had and they were very nice folks. For the most part the room I had was clean. There were some marks on the walls that could have been cleaned up, but thats just me nit picking. The sheets and comforters were cleaned very well along with all of the towels. The breakfast they serve there is decent. I only ate it once and after that I decided to go out in town to find breakfast. (Not that the food was bad, I just didnt want to eat bacon, sausage, eggs and toast every morning. They had other items like fresh fruit, juices, cereals, milk and baked good, but those things aren't what I would normally eat for breakfast). The rooms heating/air conditioning worked very well. Plus there was a window that could be opened. There is no smoking allowed in the rooms, which was fine with me because, 1 I dont smoke cigarettes or any tobacco and 2 I only smoke weed and it was no big deal to just go outside and smoke it. Not only that but if they find out that you have been smoking in your room, they tac on an extra fee. That is completely understandable and fair. Not everyone that goes to Amsterdam is there to smoke weed or smokes tobacco. "

"I don't think I've ever written this negative of a review before. This hotel is a quirky (one might say weird) place with a retro vibe. The front desk clerk said it was a renovated reform school for boys. Each room has a different decor, is a different size, but the two we saw were just not what you expect for a hotel. My room was so small I couldn't put my suitcase on the floor. The closet was a metal pole with a drawer beneath it, but the nightstand was up against the drawer so I couldn't use it. My friend's room must have been the communal shower. Her bedroom walls were covered in old bathroom tiles and there were three doors, one to the sink, one to the shower, one to the toilet, each the size of a small closet. When we said we wouldn't stay, the desk clerk offered us "other rooms" but we found the place too depressing. Maybe others would find it fun. There were a number of families playing games in the lobby livingroom. We had paid up front for two rooms for almost a week. No refund or offer to compensate us in any way except to offer us a different room, which was likely to be just as weird (although I suppose it could've been bigger). I thought the photos on the website were completely misleading."

"Rugs and carpets had many obvious stains, looked like vomit, with dust bunnies along baseboards, and a dirty microwave. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, bakery items and tea selection were the best. Wifi, view, and location are excellent. We had two apartments and checked in at two separate times as only 1 apartment was ready upon early arrival. (This was no issue for us.) The female receptionist with long curly hair in the morning was excellent during our first check-in. She was friendly and explained features of the hotel, then walked us to our apartment. Later on, the large male receptionist was dismissive towards me when i attempted to inquire if my other apartment was ready for check-in. He told me to just use the kiosks and waved me away. He seemed like a manager, as he was in a suit, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. (Mind you, I am dutch, fluent in my language, and work in the international travel industry.) Luckily, I recognized the room number I was assigned as the apartment across the hall from my sister. I can only imagine what this experience would've been like for someone that is not familiar with traveling, considering the property comprises of a few separate homes included with the hotel."
