"Beautiful place to stay, comfortable, clean quiet and lovely gardens, castle itself is stunning visually, but seemed a little tired in places, corridors and entrances understand lots of footfall but perhaps a fresh scrub and some paint touch up. We had high tea and Prosecco and decided to stay overnight, as it was my birthday.still a very lovely place to stay."

"We arrived to check into an accessible room. No help was offered to navigate a small set of steps to our room. No explanation of the amenities available or what time breakfast was served . The following morning our television didn't work breakfast was £16.95 for full english so we ate elsewhere. On our return after a lovely day out we were greeted with very loud music which all the guests had to endure as the events room doors were left open,so when we had to return to reception as our room key...

"Ben, Jackie and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nice outdoor areas and good food. The hotel is conveniently located for a day at Redcar races. The parking was good as the car park is huge. The shower was somewhat disappointing as it was merely more than a trickle. Overall, a great weekend with family and friends, we booked 7 rooms."

"Good vicinity Very pleasant helpful staff Accomodation very good Good bar For a 4star hotel I would expect restaurant to be open at night - don't want to eat in a bar Need to look at H&S with showers. Have epilepsy - cannot have a bath. To climb over bath side with no grab handles is not a good idea. Difficult to get the shower working at an acceptable temp. Should have a walk in shower"

"Room was clean and fresh, shower was superb, ours was a twin room, the beds were comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast at the health club was very good, overall our stay was great."

"Pleasant stay at the Seaton Lane Inn with a little hiccup of no towels in the room on arrival but was remedied straightaway. Check in was quick and easy although steep stairs to the upper level of the Inn rooms. May be a little difficult for older people to negotiate these. Had food in the restraunt one night and enjoyed the steak which was cooked as asked and the service was also good from the waiter. Check out was also quick and easy so a very good stay at a good hotel."

"The Hotel is set in lovely surroundings. Swimming pool is excellent. the room was small and a long way to walk to get to it. We had a large room facing the front gardens last time and prefer that even though it is a bit dated. The fried eggs they brought out for breakfast fresh from the kitchen were cold not certain how that happened.It was as if they came from the fridge."

"The food was excellent and the potions enormous. It was rather remote so you needed a car to visit Durham. The park and ride (Belmont) was excellent but you will need sat nav to find it.Uber was £19 to Durham. Most of the staff very friendly a couple not so but didn’t spoil our stay"

"We were in the annex but did not enjoy this area the room is very basic and the heating did not work we have had better appointed rooms in less expensive hotels .the front of the hotel is in good decorative order but if you have a walk round the castle there are areas which are in a poor state of repair,when we walked around the grounds we were disappointed to note a lot of dog poo had just been left lying about this is something the care taker should be aware off . "Room was big and the bed was big. Very clean throughout. The walls and headboards were a little tired looking. Our first room had faulty air con and on our last night we were given another room. We got a 30% refund for the nights we had no air con. The screen casting worked well in our first room but didn't work in the new room we moved to and the engineer, while very polite, didn't understand the issue either. The bar, breakfasts and staff were very nice."

"Basic hotel, but clean room and comfortable bed. Staff really friendly and helpful. Stay included breakfast, but limited really to takeaway style bags in which to take your choices to your room, or sit at small tables in reception. Would probably give it a miss if staying again. Location is in the middle of large industrial estate, so whilst its cheap, and ok just to put your head down for a night or two, it is limited in what it can offer to tourists."
