"Our room was clean, warm and well-lit. We had selected a superior twin, but the view from the room was dreadful ! We were next to the boiler and there was ducting all over, rubbish and the exterior of the building at the back is very shabby. Just to note - there are no usb sockets in the room, so you need to bring your own adapter. There is also no phone - I suppose because everyone has their own these days. The furniture was all dark wood, which is fitting for the age and style of the building, but there were no coasters or mats for hot drinks, which was worrying for putting a mug on the bedside table. We had to use magazines. There was only one comfy chair. The room service was a bit below par - no spare toilet roll, glasses were not washed and beds were not made. Breakfast was good, choice of food was good and service was good. Tables and cutlery etc were all clean and tidy. We had one evening meal in the restaurant, which we booked prior with reception. I had a confirmation email, but the time was totally wrong, so I had to go and tell them. They said, not to worry, they would inform chef what time we would actually be dining. When we arrived at the restaurant, they had no record of our booking. Service was chaos, in spite of there only being three couples dining. Fist choice of food was unavailable, and we waited 45 mins for mains. No-one returned to ask us if the meal was okay, which it wasn't. No-one asked if we wanted desert, so we left."

"Kids gift pack in the room was great! Room was very tired, and the bathroom was quite damp and mouldy. A shower only had a full height head, but no shower cap provided. Didn’t use facilities as when I booked the hotel it told me I needed to book and pay extra, we were only going to have an hour so didn’t bother bringing swimwear. Turns out swimming was an option available included for our booking. Dinner was disastrous, but once we had spoken to 3 staff it was dealt with. However it did put a downer on the stay which was for a special occasion. "

"Dirty stained towels, shower didn't work correctly, red hot rooms, window wouldn't open correctly, paint coming off the walls. No point in complaining at the front desk because I was only there late and gone early. Poor."

"Excellent hotel, Gracie & David on reception were a delight. Pool and sauna are very nice, huge bed and tv with chrome cast was a bonus. Would not hesitate to book again if in the area "
