"Had a lovely weekend here. This hotel was perfect. Nice and quiet but lively enough to provide a pleasant ambiance without ever being noisy or overbearing. Staff throughout were lovely and the food is very good. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to get away and relax."

Food in the restaurant was excellent too. I recommend the hanging seafood kebab. We attended a family event in the on-site function room and this was well catered. "Very clean which you notice as soon as you approach the front door. Neat and tidy garden approach. You are made to feel very welcome at the reception check in. "I LOVED Carol. She was welcoming and kind, made an amazing breakfast for me, answered all my questions. A great hostess. My room (12) was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Nice big TV. The water pressure was really low but I think that’s typical in older buildings. The garden was peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine. Great stay. Traveled from Canada."

There was not much natural light entering the room and noise can be heard from the adjoining room The building could do with some refurbishment The views and gardens are beautiful The staff were really excellent and nothing was too much trouble The food was equally good with some fabulous combinations and flavours and, they have an interesting wine list, if slightly on the pricey side. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you"

Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu.
