"Room photos on expedia showed a room that had been nicely renovated but our room was one that clearly hadn't been done yet. Place didn't seem full so I'm guessing not very many rooms look like the pictures. There is a pretty big difference between the room we got and the pictures they show so it's hard not to feel a bit deceived. Sound proofing is lacking so we could hear car doors slamming for most of the night. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. Location is close to local...

"The motel needs updating. The rooms could be cleaned alot more. Bathrooms especially. Baseboards were dirty, clogged sink, which they were going to look into but we were gone by the time they probably looked. Could use some newer nightstands. Very old. "Since there is no one at the front desk, its a self check in facility. Rooms were clean but there was wired smell all the time , i guess people been smoking or have pets ( says pet friendly) in the room . Even pillows have the smoke smell in them . "

"This was potentially the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I've never stayed in a room with such poor sound proofing before and sleeping was miserable. You could hear EVERY time someone opened their door. It didn't help that the bar had karaoke playing super loudly too on Friday and Saturday night. You could hear everything. The guy working at the front desk was lovely but there's only so much you can do to block the noise. It was hard to fall asleep before 1am and I was woken up both mornings...

"The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the bedding good quality. With this location and price point, obviously it's not the Hilton. But it's a solid, family run business that offers a good place to sleep. Parking is in a u shape around the front of the hotel. Our room was in the back, so there was a bit of a hike to move stuff into and out of the room. If you're on the upper floor as far as I can tell there's no alternative to taking things up and down the uncovered outdoor stairs,...

"Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! "This property has serious problems with mold, which it covers up with febreeze and incense. Particularly bad for people with lung issues. There is a heating problem which was finally resolved after several calls with a cube heater. Needless to say, you could not open a window to freshen the air. My clothes stank of febreeze after my visit. Far too pricey for value received. Avoid this one"
