However, it was a quiet and peaceful Hotel in lovely Grounds with friendly staff and accommodation suitable for most stays at reasonable prices. Cruise packages would be an excellent reason to book this Hotel."

"Wonderful gem! We had a whirlwind stay for just 2 nights between docking at Southampton and leaving for Heathrow, but we crammed in a trip to Brighton to see family. The location of the inn was perfect: we could've gone into central Southampton easily enough, and having the train station a few minutes walk away was perfect for getting around. I only wish we'd had more energy and time to hang around the pub some more!"

"For the $91 per night price, this was very good value. Indeed, the property is a mere 5 minutes from the port and train station, which is great. Also, there are good restaurants within a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a decent full kitchen, although there appeared to be no way to make ice. Be aware that there are no en suite bathrooms, but the bathroom was always available to us, since the property was only about half full. "Absolutely stunning, quaint, 500 year old coaching inn with lots of original features. Fantastic location in the centre of the historic market town. Bar, restaurant and large out door seating area. Extremely welcoming, happy and helpful staff. "
