"Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. "The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was nice. The bathroom was a bit dirty and needed some maintenance. There was also quite a lot of dust in some areas of the room and the kettle and iron were about 30 years old and didn't work very well. They closed downstairs completely at 22:30 and sent everyone sat having a drink by the fire to their rooms so they could turn the lights off, which seemed a bit odd. It also wasn't clear on the itinerary from hotels.com whether breakfast was included. I checked the hotel website a few days before arrival and the same room including breakfast was listed at the same price so I assumed it was. To make sure, I was going to switch to a direct reservation but despite this being a free cancellation, pay on arrival booking, they had set the terms to have no cancellation for a week before arrival, so I couldn't. On arrival they didn't say anything other than asking if I wanted to book in for breakfast, then charged it as an extra at the end. Generally the stay was really nice but there were a few issues which would put me off staying again."
