"Front desk gave poor directions to my room that was in a different building. Carpets on floors make it impossible to roll a suitcase and you have to drag them instead wrenching your arms. Restaurant food was terrible, though staff was pleasant. Outside of building showed wear and tear, like pealing paint visible from my window. Bed in room was a hazard as it rolls away from you when you sit down. Bed was too hard, pillows too soft. Only good thing was the complimentary shuttle."

"The location was really good for our stay, close to restaurants and sites. The hotel appears to be new owners, who are trying to update the premises. We found the rooms to be clean but dated. The washroom was the worst. The tub surround had some mold in one of the corners and the walls of the washroom were not in good condition. They were bubbling from the condensation of the shower, and could actually see the drywall flaking off in spots. The laminate on the floor was also peeling up near the tub/shower. The sink was damaged in a number of spots. There was no screen on the window and the picture hanging in the room was obviously damaged and knocked out of its frame. We were a little disappointed in the property, it was not "dirty" but could use some care to bring up the level. Staff was helpful when they were there (they double as clerks for the adjacent liquor store). Overall stay would be rated an "OK.""

"The only thing we had issues with was the TV. As far as I know, they did not have cable. We tried to link to our Netflix but the TV said no connection. We called down to the front desk for help but they only showed us how to get TV channels. :( Note that English for most places we entered in Vancouver was not the 1st language of most of the staff. It was either an asian or indian dialect. Overall, I would stay there again. the area was nice. It wasn't too busy so was not too stressful for this country girl. just around the corner from the hospital, not to far from the outlet mall where the dining options are pretty good, & about 20 min from the gardens & observatory."
