"Awesome location, directly across the street from the beach. No AC in main part of house. AC ran great in all bedrooms. Hot tub was not operational, and there was not toilet seat on one of the toilets. Manager said owner was shipping one from US, but never arrived. No daily housekeeping, refrigerator did not get or stay cold. And taxis we arranged for pick up to leave, never arrived. We were allotted one towel per person, and had to ask to get them changed out. For girls that use towels...

"Casa Mar was absolutely beautiful. My wife and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary with a week away and we would definitely do it again. An added perk we didn’t even realize until arriving was that this house is associated with the Awa hotel brand and you get all the perks of the hotel that is within a 5 minute walk. We loved everything about the experience. Manuel and Maria took great care of us as well!"

"Mi única queja es que no había agua caliente para bañarse, yo entiendo que es una isla muy calurosa pero si traes niños o adultos mayores pue si puede ser incómodo!!! Yo me adapte pero si hace falta el agua caliente. Por lo demás el hotel es muy bonito y pasé unas de mis mejores vacaciones!!! Gracias Holbox!!! Yo si regresaría a ese hotel!!"

"Amazing setting and well placed for restaurants , bars and shops. Really comfortable loungers and shades directly on the beach. Great balcony with our room overlooking the sea with a hammock and chairs. Fabulous breakfast . Staff were all friendly and helpful."

"After my stay, I’m quite annoyed by all the negative reviews. My experience was great, room was cute and spacious , location is perfect, staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet is varied and tasty. On the first day the bathroom smelled like sewage (which can happen because this is AN ISLAND) but I guess someone might have reported it because it was fixed the next day. All to say, pay no mind about bad reviews, this is a great place to stay in Holbox. People complaining about the staff and high food prices are most likely the arrogant ones that forget that staff are people and dont know what offering a smile is, the island is full of restaurants and bars, you dont like the drinks at the hotel? You have an infinite list to choose from. 10/10"

"El hotel está muy bien decorado, es cómodo y tiene todo (piscina, gimnasio, business center, club de playa, etc. Las camas son nuevas, buenas sábanas y toallas. Buenos amenities. La habitación tiene todo! A pocas cuadras del centro en un lugar seguro para caminar. Tiene un restaurante propio que funciona como club de playa y de noche dan cena-show."

"The hotel is right on the beach which is lovely, with beautiful birds and trees all around. The staff was extremely nice and helpful too, and the hotel is in a good quiet location but still an easy walk to the center of town and activities. The amenities could have been a little more luxurious--the instant coffee in the room, for example, could be improved. The food in the hotel restaurant was atrocious, unfortunately, so plan to eat elsewhere."
