"While this stay lacks in the polished stays of a fancy resort it makes up ten-fold in charm and personality. This was the coziest most wonderful stay we've had on our trip yet and we'll definitely be back. Located a mere 4 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute from the beach this was the low key break we needed. The stay was clean with great amenities. "The location is great and very convenient, but unfortunately that’s the only positive. The host never responded to any messages, making communication extremely difficult. The property photos — many items shown are old, broken, or completely unusable. There was no outdoor lighting, and the glasses were dusty and poorly maintained. Wouldn’t recommend staying here unless the location is your only priority."

"Stayed with my partner, and the entire area of Shimoda is so charming. If you want to experience a taste of the natural flora and fauna of Japan, this place is it. The staff were accommodating, helpful and kind, and the restaurant was excellent for a taste of the local cuisine. Great gems to be found nearby. My only recommendation is to rent a car for this area, as there’s so much to see but not all in walkable distances."

"The room was spacious & elegantly furnished. The personal onsen was such a treat. Amenities were excellent. My only criticism was the fact that the towels were thin & the pillows small & hard but I do understand that’s my own personal preference. A small negative to a wonderful stay. The staff couldn’t have been more polite, friendly & helpful. They are the true asset for this establishment. We opted for half board. The food was beautifully presented, extremely generous & delicious. The actual site was cosy, nestled in a small village, in a valley surrounded by mountains. Such a peaceful retreat - a balm to one’s spirit. "
