This is a nice hotel close to Gangnam Station. There are many restaurants nearby. The staff were always available and I liked the decor. The room was spacious and the amenities were excellent - not just a fridge, but a microwave, stovetop, and even a combo washer/dryer for laundry, all in your room.

The location was very good. I've seen a couple of reviews of staff being rude, but that wasn't the case at all for me. They sotred my luggage on the check in&check out day (even at late night) and gave me a room uphrade as well. It was beyond my expectation, I'd higly come here again next time I visit Korea!

Gangnam Artnouveau is a older property and while it has a retro feel probably needs a bit of a face lift. But it was clean and convenient. The kitchen needed a new more dishes and utensils but we ate out mostly so not a great issue. The area was so convenient to the station and shops. Just a word of warning there are 2 hotels with the same name with a kilometre or so of each other so really easy to get the wrong one.

Stayed for 9 nights, and then another 7 nights at different room in Nov. 24. Each room has a cooking facility (furnished) and a washer/dryer. My 1st room (and 2nd too, to a lesser extent) had an overwhelming curry smell; it took housekeeping 3 attempts to "de-smell" the room before it became bearable. The rice cooker was splattered with curry and so was the general cooking area: had it removed. But the smell never went away: the 2nd room had a lesser but still present smell. The staff was professional and very courteous, and so was the housekeeping. The hotel, at a convenient location was good; just make sure your room does not smell.

This charming 1980's once luxury boutique apartment hotel is nestled among other smaller hotels and all the conveniences you would ever need away from home. It is in walking distance from the main roads of Gangnam, the restaurants, coffee shops, subway stations, pharmacies, 24-hour convenience stores, and shoe repair shacks even. My room was dirty, but when I complained, they moved me to a different room. Although I still had to dust the room the maid service came every morning with free bottles of water. I packed very light, so the washing machine in the kitchen came in very handy. I loved the old luxury - marble counters, framed mirror wall, chandeliers with colored cut glass, wood paneling... It felt like home.

The room was very big and it was very convenient to have a washing machine (with drying option) in our room. We also had a big fridge and freezer and a electric hob with extractor fan, and plates and pans available too and a kettle. This was very useful as we could have breakfast or food in the room whenever we liked. The room had plenty of clothes storage and big bed and very powerful shower, and a Korean bidet toilet. It was all cleaned every day and new towels provided daily as well. The hotel has great sound proofing, we had a lovely view of a park/gardens. It is located by exit 5 of Gangnam (2 to 3 minute walk), and 2 minutes walk to Paris Baguette, and 10 seconds to the convenient store - CU. It is very good location and very very safe area. All thr staff spoke english and were very helpful always. There are 3 resturants within the hotel, a spa and a gym as well. We had a brilliant time and have recommended the hotel to many people already and look forward to staying at thier sister branches in different cities when we next go to Korea. Fully recommend, perfect.

I liked how the hotel was in a quiet area despite being near the busy streets of gangnam. The cleaning staff, female receptionists were very nice and professional. The male receptionists on other hand were not. It has been around 30 years since the last time my father and I have been to Korea. We were not familiar with many things. I was very disappointed when I expected great customer service and respect from Korean establishments. At the end of our stay, they did not give us a tax refund receipt with the tax barcode. They said if we showed the receipt to the tax refund desk, they would refund us. The airport did not allow us to get a refund with the receipt given by the hotel. This is unacceptable. They have already received the payment tax from the government. We are furious. Why would they give us a receipt that does not allow us to get a tax refund at the airport when so many other foreigners have come and gone through this hotel? Beware.

Good and bad

Bad: COCKROACH!: There was a cockroach in the bathroom on the third day of my stay When I alerted them they came quickly and treated chemicals. I did not see any for the rest of 7 days of my stay DINGY GYM: The gym is small and cramped. The equipments seem to be at least 20 years old. The circulation is limited, no air no towel no water. It is better not have any gym at all than this one for the reputation of the hotel. GOOD Other than cockroach the room was clean and spacious. There were kitchenette, and washer/dryer in the unit so it was great for long term stay (10 nights). Close to the subway and bus stations and in the middle of Gangnam so lots of activities were close by.
