"This was the perfect hotel to stay in while in Aberdeen. The staff were very helpful with any questions we had. The location is ideal to seeing the city, while also within walking distance to the train station. The continental breakfast was better than other hotel breakfasts that required payment. Overall, can't recommend this hotel enough for travelers."
"Perfect stay, we had a great view from our room so made note of the room number for the future - slightly dated decor, but everything was clean and in perfect working order :)"
"The hotel part of the property is closed with only the bar open. The business was sold 3 months ago. The new owner seems nice. When we arrived we were politely informed that there was no room for us or anyone else. We booked 5 months ago and no one told us that we had been cancelled 3 months ago. "
"Unfortunately, my experience was far from what was advertised. The condition of the hotel did not match the images presented online, which I found to be misleading.
Upon entering my room, I was very concerned to find that the bedding had visible burn marks, consistent with cigarette damage. No headboard for the single beds. In addition, there were both dead and live moths present on and around the bed, which is completely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint.
The overall cleanliness of the room was also poor. Thread bare carpet, marks & stain in the bath. There was a noticeable build-up of dust on the skirting boards and along the tops of the windows. Furthermore, the room had a very strong smell of bleach, which made the environment uncomfortable and raised concerns about how the room had been maintained. I did raise this with reception, and brought him proof of its condition. Advised I would like a refund he said I would need to take it up with my booking agents and he would authorise this.
This experience fell significantly below the standard I would expect and has caused considerable dissatisfaction. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter "
Belvilla Aberdeen Bridge of Don Sea VIew - Ex Holiday Inn Express
6/10 Okay
"Good for the price, with a few small quirks
Stayed here for a couple of days while working and needed something cheap and decent so that’s exactly what I got.
A few little things: paid parking felt unfair, shower pressure and heat weren’t amazing (but fine for the price). Also, elevator security seemed a bit loose since anyone could walk up, which might bother other solo travelers.
On the plus side: staff were nice even though I reached check out much much later, lobby and furniture looked great, and the smart TV with YouTube SAVED my evenings after the rough days at work. Room was fine and comfy enough to sleep and shower.
One heads up: it’s unclear if they have a restaurant in the premises, maybe staff could mention it just in case and the wifi connection is a little weak
Overall, it’s a solid budget choice if you’re not picky"
"The room they gave us the bed was propped up with either brick or wood. The property was disgusting. The place smelled of curry and the food area was not very nice. "
