The property is small and boutique like (just 14 rooms), very nice and top quality. The staff are what makes the property so nice. Yumi, the manageress could not do enough for us, but also all the other staff too were so nice and welcoming. Breakfast almost seemed like having your own personal chef. The only down sides with the property are what quite a few other guests have commented on, and that is the fact that the hotel is quite a way out of town (a taxi needed both directions), and that the...

Great hotel in an ideal location inside the city wall. Friendly staff who are available 24 hours.
Tasty breakfast provided with complimentary drinking water, tea and coffee provided in reception all hours. This was a massive bonus knowing we could go back to drinking water.
Nice pool outside with a few sunbeds.
Would stay here again.

This place was not cheap, but it was totally amazing - and well worth it for us. I would definitely stay again, and recommend it. We stayed for a special event they put on - a South African BBQ. Outstanding food and service. It rained on and off the entire time and we still had a blast! Plenty of indoor/outdoor options when it rains. All the included amenities were wonderful. We have stayed at plenty of places in Thailand that will never measure up to this one. The only downside for us was the...

An exceptional stay for those who value peace and quiet, enjoy their independence and are happy with large sprawling grounds. There was no request too great to ask from the staff - the attentiveness and service were just right. My relentless Grab orders and taxi rides were treated with good humour - there are golf-buggies to chauffeur guests about the place and bring things to your villa.
The villa was perfect - spacious, bright, airy and the perfect blend of modern and traditional. The...

A wonderful couple of days in this beautifully designed hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Fantastic refreshing pool after sightseeing. Close to everything but so peaceful. If you stay must have dinner at the stunning Faces restaurant. Have a few drinks at the chilled out, cool Chai bar beforehand , both a 2 minute walk from the hotel . We'll be back!

Fantastic little hotel. Small touches like free water, fruit, coffee and snacks make it stand out. Great staff, lovely clean and spacious room. Best value hotel I've ever stayed at. Cannot fault it.

This is a really amazing hotel in a good quiet location yet only 15 minute to night market and old town.
Can’t speak highly enough of the staff and the place is immaculate. If you go to Chiang Mai stay there!!

This is an excellent hotel and also looks the part! The staff are pleasant and the rooms are big and spacious and beautifully fitted out. The breakfast is somewhat limited but as there are only 19 rooms you cannot expect a massive selection. It is located near the Night Bizzar so easy to walk in and out of town. So, many thanks to Joe and his Team for a most enjoyable stay. Give it a go...you will not be disappointed.

Pocket Guide: Chiang Mai Province San Kamphaeng Hotels
About San Kampaeng
San Kampaeng is a district to the east of Chiang Mai which is most famous for its silk umbrella industry and a wide selection of outlets selling lovely handmade jewellery and souvenirs. The district is also home to golf courses, a holy cavern complex and curative hot springs. Due to the diverse nature of San Kampaeng’s attractions it is a rare occurrence for tourists to pass up the chance of visiting.
Don’t Miss
The so-called Handicraft Highway and Bo Sang Village are the most important of San Kampaeng’s tourism delights and only 12kms from central Chiang Mai. Heading away from the populated areas towards Mae On and its outdoor activities venues, the route passes the entry roads for Muang On Cave and San Kampaeng Hot Springs. The cavern complex features a long serpent-sided stairway and a large number of shrines. Two hot springs locations provide bathing in rejuvenating waters.
For golfers, the Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort boasts one of the best courses in the country and has stunning views from every fairway and green. In the Tonpao sub-district of San Kampaeng, a well-designed mini-golf course provides fun for the whole family. Wat Pa Tung is the finest of several Buddhist temples in this area of Chiang Mai province.
Restaurants and Bars
Eating options in San Kampaeng District are primarily limited to Thai cuisine although there is the occasional restaurant with an expatriate co-owner with Italian or Swiss dishes on the menu. The small restaurants serve the usual staples of noodle soups and rice dishes with spicy meat. Choosing a larger establishment usually provides more choice, with gourmet freshwater-fish dishes and other specialties available. Most eateries sell alcoholic drinks, but there are few bars in the vicinity.
Shopping
Shopping is the principal reason many visitors travel to San Kampaeng and the choice of quality handmade articles is truly amazing. Products sold in San Kampaeng are generally cheaper and more varied than in Chiang Mai’s Night Bazaar or shopping malls. Silk parasols and fans with bamboo frames are the typical Bo Sang memento. Other excellent San Kampaeng souvenirs include celadon pottery jars, wood carvings, ornate lacquerware, silver jewellery and sa paper notebooks and greetings cards.
