"I have stayed in many high end hotels throughout the world and I have to say that this experience was superb from start to finish. Staff could not have been more professional and helpful. The room was superb and the setting was also great. All rooms are individually designed and the building dates back to the 15th century, so is characterful in many regards. If you're in Chambéry and you want a really good place to stay, I would strongly recommend this hotel."

"The tiniest hotel room I‘ve ever seen. You could only enter the bed from one side and the shower doors only opened less than 2ft. No parking, no restaurant. Doors are locked 24/7, and the rooms are locked with gigantic old-fashioned keys that don‘t fit in any pockets (note, you also need to lock the room door from the inside, something that I haven‘t seen in a hotel in decades). "I have stayed here previously and left a negative review due to excessive noise from slamming doors in the hotel, this remains an issue in some areas as there are many heavily sprung doors throughout the corridors slamming 24/7 making sleep an issue With that said I have stayed here 2 further times in ski and cycling season once in a different area of the building and once in the new construction building, in both cases no noise issues. With the issue of the doors removed the hotel, staff, location, parking and spa facilities are absolutely brilliant it is a fantastic hotel and the restaurant also very reasonable, Even the Aircon is good. As a base for a sports holiday or more likely a stop off on the way to/from the mountains I can't imagine a better arrangement . The slamming door issue is major and is still present.will be a probleut if you are lucky and stay in the correct room"
