"What a wonderful resort! We chose Anse Marcel Beach Resort for our anniversary trip, selecting this remote location because it is in a nature preserve, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. It did not disappoint. The resort sits on a pristine private beach in a sheltered cove. The white sand and turquoise waters were complemented by the attentive staff who were ready to provide every comfort. Every day, we were given comfortable loungers shaded by umbrellas where we could relax and enjoy the ocean, get seaside cocktails and food, and swim and snorkle in the perfect waters. The beach-side restaurant offered impeccable service and delicious, fresh food. The room was beautiful with a private balcony overlooking the ocean, a large soaking tub, useful kitchenette, and comfortable bed. The entire experience was wonderful. We hope to return and highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a beautiful beach resort for romantic getaways and quiet relaxation."
"The staff was great, very helpful and Friendly. The property was clean, well maintained and big. Our villa was on the hill the view was awesome.
We were told, we have access to the beach. There are 4 spots we can used. The beach closes at 5. We got to one beach at 4:00. They stated they were not taking anymore guest because they were closing at 4:30. We asked why, the guy was rude and said there are other spot we can go to. We did and have a great time. The next day after our excursion, we got to the beach at 3:00pm, there was other spot we went to, they said we needed a reservation and we can’t go. We went to another spot. This beach thing was a hassle. We didn’t like the hassle at all!! That was really the only thing that was a problem but we made it due.
Everyone gets a welcome drink, rum punch. It was good.
We were there for 5 days and had a wonderful time.
The hotel is worth going for the price and location. The French side is known for great beaches and tranquility (peaceful). There is a nude beach about 10 minute walking from this hotel.
The Dutch side is known for casinos, dining and club life."
"Loved our stay in a one bedroom suite! Our room was lovely, very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed eating our complimentary breakfast (very good) on our terrace. We often stopped by the pool area on our way back from the beach. It is beautiful and a great place to relax and cool off. The evening shuttle to Grande Case gave us the option to catch a ride, though we often walked as it’s close by and we enjoyed the walk. Many great restaurants in the area….we loved Java and La Villa to name two. We also did a couples massage at Ti Spa. It was wonderful!
We would definitely stay here again! And we highly recommend. Two things to be aware of….there are a lot of stairs to navigate. For example there was a total of 85 steps to get from our room to the pool. (The resort is built into the hillside.). It was no problem for us but it could be a lot. And, due to the height of some of the landscaping outside of our room, we couldn’t sit on our terrace and see the water. It was an ocean view room so this was a little disappointing but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things."
"This property is a little slice of heaven. Perfectly situated on a peaceful bay on the northwest corner of the island it is sheltered this year from sargasso which is a miracle considering the east coast of the island is covered in it. The rooms are newly renovated following their recovery from hurricane irma and are well appointed and clean. The beach is not oversold to day trippers so there is no fighting over chairs and the staff at the beach are extremely attentive with umbrellas if need be and food and drink. The restaurant sunset cafe is excellent and a short walk down rue de la petit plage gives you access to all different types of cuisine. Snorkeling just off the beach was excellent with the clearest views of the ocean floor which featured starfish many schools of angelfish and if you look hard enough you will find some sand dollars. What an amazing place! Thanks goodness they rebuilt so well and here is to wishing them the best in the future! P.S. as an added bonus they have free washer and dryer onsite and a gym which is sufficient for all levels of activity and daily aqua classes and pilates and yoga in the morning each day alternating."
"This place is perfect for those of you who loves a private secluded space. Not touristy, quiet; the villa is perfect. Aura is perfect for families or couples who wants to get away for a bit. Ance Marcel Beach is just a 4 min drive with multiple places to eat. Not a far drive from Orient Beach; if you want more restaurant options. I definitely recommend it here."
