Independent hotels in Sai Thai

Located in the south of Thailand’s Krabi province just minutes away from Ao Nang, Sai Thai is away from the hustle and bustle of Krabi but close enough to the action when needed. It is a quiet area where seclusion and private villas are the norm, attracting visitors that are looking for a home away for home. Sai Thai provides a more local experience amidst lush vegetation.

There is not much to do in Sai Thai, but its location makes it ideal for exploring the rest of the province as well as hitting the beach or exploring Krabi Old Town, and you could easily spend weeks here surrounded by the comforts of home.

Those that want to stay in Sai Thai can visit Wat Sai Thai and its reclining Buddha, the fossil shells cemetery (Su-San-Hoi-Wat-Sai-Thai) and Tham Sadet – a cave that has beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.

The long sandy Noppharat Thara Beach is one of two of the local beaches in the area (the other being Ao Nang), which is a nice quiet stretch that is less developed than Ao Nang. Those that want a little bit more action should spend their days and nights in Ao Nang.

In Sai Thai itself there are few restaurants and bars apart from within the resorts themselves, with most visitors going to Ao Nang for dining and drinking. Most resort restaurants in Sai Thai specialise in Thai cuisine, with menus having a few international options. Ao Nang offers cuisine from all over the world, as well as having a good selection of bars to choose from.

There are a couple of local convenience stores in Sai Thai for picking up snacks, drinks and necessities. For clothing, beachwear, souvenirs and handicrafts, walk to Ao Nang or get a taxi or songthaew to Krabi Town.
