"What a lovely find in Pembroke! John is a fantastic host with plenty of interesting stories, and the property has a wonderful family history that adds to its charm. "We arrived to no one around and after walking around the property finally saw an envelope with our name on it and our key. Our room smelt moldy and damp. The carpet was dirty and the walls were peeling. The beds were very uncomfortable. It was shocking to see after such a high rating. The yard was unkempt and there was a general air of neglect about the whole place. "

"De kamer zelf is heel ruim maar de badkamer is amper 2 vierkante meter. De douchecabine is erg krap. Er is nergens plaats in de douche om iets van shampoo of douchegel te plaatsen. Er is ook zwarte schimmel op de voegen. De rolgordijnen in de kamer zijn ongeveer een halve meter te kort en kunnen dus niet het hele raam verduisteren. De matras en de kussens zijn van goede kwaliteit. Het ontbijt is erg pover. Enkel toast met choco of confituur, voorverpakte chocoladebroodjes en wat doosjes...

"The place had a lot of potential, it just felt neglected and unloved. They had gone to a lot of effort to supply breakfast items in the shared kitchen and it was obviously visited each day by a host as it was tidied and rubbish cleared but some cupboards had random packets and crumbs,the salt and pepper pots were dirty and sticky.
