"Lodge was located at a very convenient place. The owners has kept clean. It has few rooms attached to the property and few outside. We stayed the ones in the main lodge and felt like being at home. Definitely recommend to stay if you are going to tongariro national park"

"It looks like the place has been going thru renovations. The room has new kitchen and floor, may be carpet too. It is about 15-20 min. to the NP visitor center and many thrailheads and has restaurants and supermarket nearby. Since the room has full pane glass as wall and access door along the corridor ( much like patio door ) which allows full view of the mountains and also tenants walking on the corridor. For privacy, you need to close the curtain."

"We were only here for three nights but loved the time we had here. It was welcoming, spotless and our fridge was stocked everyday with breakfast foods, even bacon. The kitchen was really well stocked as was the rest of the house. For us, instead of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night, we were able to hear the river and drop off to sleep with that beautiful sound, it really was a luxury home away from home. "Mieliśmy bardzo udany pobyt w Tongariro River Retreat. Ian naprawdę bardzo się stara i jest wspaniałym gospodarzem - ogromnie dziękujemy za wszelką życzliwość i pomoc!!! Pokój był czysty i wystarczający na 2 dniowy pobyt, dodatkowo do dyspozycji Gości jest bardzo przestronna i w pełni wyposażona kuchnia a także bardzo przestronny salon. "I stayed for 3 nights during local trail running race event. The place is really tidy and well maintained. I sensed the owners' passion for this place and Tongariro region. The kitchen is spacious, has large fridges and everything you need. You can bring your own food and cook without any hassles. The lounge is even better with pool table and table tennis table. There are two decent restaurants, a petrol station and 4-square supermarket nearby, so you can find all the essentials. "
