I was surprised that my valid U.S. REAL ID driver’s license was not accepted, and the focus seemed to be on what couldn’t be done rather than finding a solution. The front desk team would benefit from additional training on what it means to deliver a world-class guest experience by listening,...

"Excellent location for exploring the Gjirokastër bazaar — right in the heart of it all. Arriving close to midnight made parking a bit tricky to find at first, but once we explored the bazaar the next day we discovered a convenient parking deck nearby with shortcuts that made getting to and from the hotel with our bags easy. Our room had stunning views of the mountains, the castle, and the city below — an unforgettable setting. Highly recommend!"

"The Amare Hotel was our favorite stay of our 2-week trip. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast that is included was delicious and had a wide variety. We had 2 dinners at the hotel and they were also excellent. We would book again without hesitation."

"Very nice resort in a developing area. The room is big, with a nice balcony facing the pool. The hotel has a small gym with dumbbells and a couple of machines, it works for some basic workout. The beach is beautiful, and breakfast is included. The AC wasn’t working properly in the lobby, and the room was not cold enough to my personal preference, but we had a beautiful stay anyway. The staff in the reception were very welcoming and helpful."

"Stunning hotel! Definitely a splurge but totally worth it for the view and breakfast and the beautiful room. The late night terrace area is a vibe. My only note is that the hotel charged me again even after I paid via hotels.com (they claimed that I hadn't paid yet), and it was a bit of a hassle to get the refund, but I eventually got it so it all worked out in the end."

"Tough to get to but nice parking area. Google Maps takes you the wrong way so lookout. My room heater didn’t work and the lights in the bedrooms area didn’t work so had to depend on the glow from the bathroom light which did work. One of two small night stands didn’t work and the one that did had a short circuit so it went on and off. Breakfast was really weak but a very nice effort. This is a small place so it’s great if your expectations are in proper alignment. Location is fantastic....

Our room was exactly as expected, mattress better than expected and view was priceless. Having paid for an upgrade to a patio sea view suite was worth every penny. We truly feel this was the best location in this beautiful town we could have stayed."
