Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton
2/10 Terrible
"I chose to stay in the north of the island because I was looking for peace and calm — that’s exactly what I had been told this area and hotel would offer. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different.
The hotel was extremely noisy. Music was constantly playing throughout the property, including in the room corridors and outdoor areas. Even worse, a nearby hotel blasted children’s music til late evening every night, making it almost impossible to rest or enjoy any sense of tranquility.
To make matters worse, I became seriously ill after eating at the hotel on the day I arrived. I was so sick that I needed medical assistance the following day. What shocked me most was the lack of proper support from hotel management. Despite being visibly unwell, I was essentially expected to travel all the way to Ibiza town myself to get medication. Something I would never expect from a supposed five-star hotel.
Eventually, after insisting, the hotel agreed to arrange the medication for me. Of course, I expected to pay for the medication itself, which is completely normal. However, I was then charged an a crazy amount for the transfer to bring the medication to the hotel. It felt like the hotel was charging for every possible detail rather than showing genuine care for a guest in need. i do want to acknowledge that the blue-collar staff were kind and helpful."
"Beautiful hotel, staff really friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. Loved all the little touches like sun cream lying around the pool and beach, yoga mats in the room. Delicious food, although very pricey. You must go expecting to spend money. Loved how everything was non toxic and organic. Breakfast was a real treat- get the French toast! There is nothing around the resort you will have to eat there and there are only three (expensive) restaurants. But we were very happy with the quality. Felt like a small intimate hotel with excellent standards. Spa was also amazing, my husband got a massage by an actual physiotherapist and his back is still feeling much better. Looking forward to our next stay, we will take our son next time."
"On arrival we received a very warm welcome, the staff are very attentive and helpful.
Our room was clean and bright, bed was very comfortable as we're the pillows.
The only downside was the smell of drains not only in our room but around the hotel I think there must have been some sort of an issue as there were a maintenance team looking at this on day 2 of our stay.
But dont let this put you off. The breakfast is a must, so well presented and plenty of choice."
"Hotel is in a quiet bay situated on waters edge. Stayed in a Suite room which had a mountain view not a sea view (Sea view rooms are available but are smaller). Clean beach, calm waters, relaxed bars and a few shops. Portinatx is small and can be walked along beach walkway from hotel on 5mins. Local bus from Portinatx go Ibiza town and Santa Eluraia des Rui."
"I found that some members of staff should be more smiling (e.g. staff at the restaurant) or more customer-centric (e.g. check-in and check-out at the reception very transactional; not a warm welcome and at the check-out nothing like thank you for staying with us or we hope you enjoyed your stay, we look forward to seeing you again). There's definitely room for improvement in this area ."
