The Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien), Mui Ne, Vietnam You take off your shoes and walk along the soft sand of the fairy stream in Mui Ne. It's a nice walk down the stream to a waterfall at the end, with sand dunes and natural scenery along the way. #packsandaplan
When I started walking up the stream, where the stones are still light and the water polluted, I was honestly disappointed. But when I turned the first corner, where the canyon become deeper and redder, it felt totally different. The colors and the shape of the rocks were incredible. This was our 40 minute trek at FairyStream through this river to a small waterfall at the top of the stream. This area is really close to Mui Ne and there are some nice sand formations. The water looks clean in the picture, but it was polluted throughout our walk upstream. As you arrive at the river there are guys trying to charge you a fee to leave your shoes/sandals. You don't have to pay and you can take them with you. We used our Keen Sandals which were helpful as further upstream there are more rocks in the water. This was part of an afternoon trip with Muine Backpackers travel and tour agent. We all went in a Russian Jeep to the Fairy Stream, views overlooking some fishing boats (unfortunately a very polluted beach), then onto the white sand dunes and a sunset at the red sand dunes. All of this for $7 per person. We wanted to rent a scooter but after seeing the roads on the way to the white sand dunes we were happy we didn't. Terrain for a jeep or off-road bike. The only downfall was they overbooked the tour and it was a tight squeeze in the back of the Jeep. Overall it was a good #roadtrip which combined everything you need to see in Mui Ne or surrounding area.
