"Hotel looked great online and like a 1970s holiday camp when we arrived with metal staircases and chalet rooms We also had a lovely guest decide to smash the room up under us and threaten everyone police called not 1 member of staff checking anyone was ok Breakfast was awful all in all never to be repeated again"

When I contacted reception, I was informed that the hotel had not yet set up the Chromecast functionality, so streaming was unavailable. The air conditioning was also very noisy, with the motor producing a constant whining sound, which was disruptive and had to be turned off especially during sleep. "The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of an update. The room was fine...no safe, furniture a bit tatty and some black mould around the bath/shower. Only 1 dressing robe and slippers in the room, although booked as a couple. Room service was a bit random. The sandwiche that arrived was not great, with a tired piece of lettuce, 2 small tomatoes and some tortilla chips. Breakfast was again fine but nothing to write home about. The hot food had the air of being put out for the opening...

"Parked just around the corner. Received a very warm welcome. We walked a couple of minutes and caught the tram straight to the university of Sheffield. "

"NEEDS IMPROVING. The location was fantastic, however there are several things that need work and whoever cleans the flat would know this. The freezer section of the refrigerator is one solid block of ice, pushing open the freezer door. It's so bad that a person needs to make sure the fridge door is closed. The shower hose and drain need attention. The drain gets plugged immediately. The bed is the absolute WORST bed I have ever slept on. I bet the mattress is several decades old. You feel...

"Good value hotel room. Would maybe be good to provide the same number of towels as people the room was booked for. Otherwise no complaints."

"Such a weird place. The bathroom must of had 6 bars in it. One of which was just under the shower head, meaning your body was either against the cold metal bar or the curtain stuck to you. There was a sign in the room stating that you needed to close the bathroom door while showering or you would set off the fire alarm with steam. Glad this was a one night experience."

"The appartment was not clean, an heavy smell of sewer. Many places in the apartment was really dirty: bathroom curtain, oven and fridge was destroyed. There were dirty bed sheet in a wardrobe entrance. The wifi password was not given to us and after our arrival we had no answer at all from the property. Hopefully we have booked only one night. I do not recommend this place."

"Wow! The most beautiful nights stay at The Peacock, the scenery, the room, the food, the staff. I didn't want to leave. I LOVED the little touches - the Peacock shortbread, the glass bottles for water/milk, bath salts. I've stopped in a lot of hotels and I have to say this stay beats them all. Perfect! Thanks so much.
