"This hotel is really good value for money. The rooms were spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and there was free WiFi. The views from our window weren’t great (we were overlooking a large grey flat roof and a building site) but that’s not what I was paying for so it didn’t bother me. The check-in was fast and efficient however I was hit with a £30 refundable deposit per room (I’d booked two rooms) which wasn’t an issue for me in the long run but I don’t recall being made aware of that...

"When we arrived no one was at the desk when we got closer it was a self checkin when I started the receptionist came out and greeted us then she helped with the rest. "Very quiet, comfortable room which was extremely clean. Good range of toiletries and drinks in the room, milk bar a great idea. All staff courteous and friendly. There was a wedding on which didn’t disturb us and when checkout got busy due to this lots of extra staff appeared to manage the desk. Very well managed will stay again"

"Location is very convenient as it is in city center. The hotel is a bit old, but the cleanliness is good. The staff who check us in is very helpful and friendly. There is no complimentary bottled water, but there is kettle with instant coffee and tea. There is no option for twin bed, but the sofa can be pulled out to make the second bed. The hotel provided the additional bed sheet and blanket cover for us for free. "

"Our favourite Sheffield hotel, at the moment. It is set in a beautiful location on the quayside but still easy to walk to the city centre. Cars are safe in the carpark at a reasonable rate - £8.00 for 24 hours. Our room was amazing and had 2 double beds with a bath/ shower and tea making facilities/ iron & ironing board. "Lovely heritage building with a great story to tell, however, as a mobility scooter user it wasn’t great. Yes there’s an accessibility platform lift to use to avoid the steps at the side entrance and I just managed to get my scooter in it, but it’s cumbersome and in the bar area so I was stared at whilst I used it. "Good comms on the phone before I arrived. Kindly suggested that I park at the secure NCP car park next door as there had been some theft recently, which was cheap enough. The room I was given had been smoked in (not the hotels fault) - the guys on the reception immediately swapped me to another room with no quibbling which was great. Hotel could do with a couple of touch ups, but it was clean and friendly and an absolute bargain compared to other options. Very good breakfast too"

"Very disappointing to arrive on site a 1845 and discover that there was no restaurant facilities and no bar available for a drink. The booking confirmation stated that both were open 11 till late, but it's actually 6pm when the restaurant closes. There is an expensive shop open to buy student type food, but we didnt fancy pot noodle when we were hoping to be dining in the restaurant. Very misleading information. "
