The room may be outdated, but their location is in very convenient area which is right next to the beach and shopping plaza! Their balcony view was very nice as well. Staff is very nice and i was very happy with our stay

While the room was a little run down and dated. It was clean and did not have any pests that I could see. The shower had great water pressure but if you are taller (I am 5’10’’) that shower head is a little low. The breakfast provided in the morning is a little limited with only dairy yogurt, variety of prepackaged pastries, and bread to make toast. They did offer coffee, two kinds of tea, and orange juice. As for location there was a Safeway and trader Joe’s right down the street. As well as other shopping near by.

Location, location, location! It's always so quiet and beautiful on our deck next to the estuary. We walk to everything! 2 minutes to Alameda Beach. 6 minutes to Starbucks. 7 minutes to Trader Joe's. 15 minutes to the Park Street shopping and restaurant district that's over 100 years old. We love the vintage details in this 1960s hotel. If you want a shiny new hotel room this is not the place for you.

Pretty good place, there were some loud people there when I went but its a 30 second walk from the beach and the people couldn't be heard inside the room. Everything was clean, staff was nice, easy parking. The furniture inside the room looks like it's vintage but it functions. The back patio has a nice visual of a pond or inlet or something. Would definitely stay here again.

Honestly the room was unexpectedly very spacious than the picture. I would say it is convenient that you have somewhere to stay at. Even if it’s just for the night too. If you like fancy this place isn't for you. In my opinion it is worth staying there. The car situation was easy too. Just make sure to lock your doors including the hotel door too. Block it with a chair you never know. Overall everything was good. Nothing bad. We just stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights just for Big Bang which also includes going to sf and sj. So again it’s worth it. It’s not fancy but it isn’t bad either.

I really enjoyed my stay. The location was perfect,close to everything and very convenient. I also love how safe and comfortable I felt during my visit. Th only small thing was that the cleanliness could hav a little better, but overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Staff were nice. Location was awesome. Near the beach, shops and restaurants. Room is very rundown. Furniture is very old, there was leak from kitchen sink, tv remote was missing, toilet seat won’t stay up, closet doors were all off rails, electric stove didn’t work, carpet pretty dirty. At night you can hear a lot of yelling, loud music, and foot steps. The location really made up for the terrible room.

We were gone all day, and only slept and showered there. Its quite dated, but in good condition. The only complaint would be the front desk never being answered. Pretty much have to walk down to the lobby. Once you're there though, the staff is very helpful :)

Our suite was nice & big, the location and price were great, but the cleanliness of the carpet was questionable. Advertised as sleeping 4, the pull-out couch was a single, not big enough for 2. This meant one of our kids had to sleep on cushions on the floor. As other reviewers have noted, these rooms desperately need an upgrade, The carpet, furniture, kitchen, curtains, fans, and TV appear to be several decades old. While the room was "clean" there were some grungy spots, permanent stains, and reminders of age. The grounds are nice, but the two nights we were there, a group of guests stayed up late, made noise, and left a mess in the common/pool area. Mess was not cleaned up by the offenders nor the hotel staff. The continental breakfast was limited, mostly carbs, and wasn't refreshed. Finally, the AM desk staff person was surly and not particularly helpful.

Rooms very outdated, carpets were filthy, wouldn’t use the stove or anything in the kitchen, the beds where old and lumpy, had a musty smell , did have big closets and was spacious, no ice on property, rooms do not look like they do online, the breakfast was yogurt, toast, cereal and a danish. We booked the hotel partly for the pool as I am travelling with two young children who loves the water. At no point were there any mention that the pool was closed, so we figured it out the hard way. Also, the carpet in the room were filthy. We tried to keep the kitchen and bathroom area a clean zone and then wear shoes whenever walking on the carpet. Apart from the above mentioned it was alright. Quiet and felt safe.

The place is older but with your own personal balcony over the water the view was beautiful. What was not okay was that they advertised having a gym and did not and when the tv didn’t work they wouldn’t switch it out, they said we could switch rooms but it was past 9:30 and we were otherwise settled in for the night and the pool was not open. Breakfast was very basic.

This was our second time staying here as a family of four. Overall, we had another nice and relaxing stay and would definitely consider coming back again. We stayed in Room 219, which had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The room was reasonably priced and the location is one of the biggest advantages. It’s conveniently located near shopping, businesses, restaurants, and good places to eat, while the beach is also just a short walk away. Having a bowling alley right next door is another great bonus and gives families an easy option for some extra recreational fun without having to travel far. Although the room itself is somewhat dated and could use some aesthetic updating, we appreciated the space and the amenities provided. The floors had some noticeable stains, so I would recommend keeping socks or slippers on while walking around. One feature we especially appreciated was having a cooking burner and oven in the room. It was nice to have the option to prepare a meal ourselves instead of having to eat out for every meal, which is especially helpful when traveling with kids. The beds in Room 219 could use some attention as well. The mattresses felt well-used and had a noticeable dip in the middle. We were still able to sleep okay, but replacing or upgrading the mattresses would definitely improve the overall comfort of the room.

I should have trusted prior reviews of this place as being a bit out-dated and run down, it certainly could use some paint and a little more TLC, however it is in a great location, beach is just across the street, and a nice shopping center with many cute stores/ wide variety of resturaunts and food choices across the other street. Overall, our goal was to just have a place to sleep in between the daily activities, and Coral Reef Inn met that need at a reasonable price.
