Hotel is a bit off the beaten tourist track, but worth it for a quiet visit. Great value for money and the host is so kind!! I was traveling solo and felt very welcome and safe. Easy walk to the abyss. By far one of the best dinners and breakfasts I had in Japan!!
The room was simply furnished, very clean with comfortable beds. The owner and his wife were very accommodating. It was wonderful to be able to have dinner at the inn, where we dined 3 of our 4 nights. The food was delicious and the portions large. The location was out of the commercial district but close to bus stop #14.
Great service, cool decor. The dinner they served was delicious. Got lost finding the hotel because the location shown on the online map was not the actual address.
I have been living in Japan for 2 years and have been traveling all over Japan and this by far has been my favorite and most comfortable place for a family of five. The beds ( actually king size) are so comfortable that my wife didn't want to get out. Additionally, they had nexflix for the kids to keep them entertain. Also, it is a retro style look, with the comic books, games and the music. Just an amazing place to stay.
The check-in was a bit confusing because we didn't know they are open from 4PM. Other than that, everything else was great.
Very nice hosts and there is a nice bakery very close to the hotel.
Whenever you are visiting Nikko beware the shops/restaurants and cafes close around 5-6PM.
Nice and cosy little cottage, picture shown is exactly what the room is like. Breakfast was delicious and the background music enhanced the mood of the guesthouse.
