I am requesting a refund for my stay at Moonrise Villas in Negril. The accommodations were significantly different from what was represented on Expedia. This is not about the property being older; my concerns are cleanliness, maintenance and basic amenities. We found multiple spiders inside the unit, visible webs/cobwebs, dirty areas and poorly maintained surfaces. The kitchen stove had extensive rust, grime and buildup around and underneath the burners, and the cookware was heavily worn. Most importantly, we had NO HOT WATER for the first FOUR NIGHTS. We were later told the hot water operates on solar, which was not disclosed in the Expedia listing when we booked. We have timestamped and location-stamped photos from our arrival documenting the spiders, webs, kitchen, stove and other conditions. We booked based on the photos, description, amenities and 8.6 “Excellent” rating displayed on Expedia. The accommodations we received did not reasonably match what was advertised or what we paid for. I am requesting a FULL REFUND and ask that Expedia formally review and escalate this complaint.

Firstly, thank you, Ms. Linda. The hospitality from Ms. Linda and her son came with that genuine Jamaican love. The property was well kept, and a few updates were being done when I arrived. I had a small problem with the outlet for the AC unit, but an electrician fixed it within an hour. The Superior Room was worth every penny. The layout felt like having a small apartment in the city spacious, clean, and the bed was HUGE. It also has its own outdoor veranda, which was perfect in the mornings for coffee and my medz. The location was excellent, and that’s coming from someone who has visited Negril for years and stayed along the 7‑mile beach and the cliffs since I was a boy. You have Best in the West, Sunrise Beach (Highly recommend), and small shops nearby. The supermarket is a bit of a walk up to the Boardwalk area, but you’re in Negril, that’s part of the charm. For the price I paid, I think I got a great deal. I was a bit unsure when I first walked in, but the warmth from Ms. Linda and her son, along with seeing the room, made my stay feel like a second home.

I don’t usually write review but I had to for this place. My family and I stayed here 1 nights and could not sleep all night because we felt unsafe and uncomfortable. All These owners do is to take the guests monies and they do not maintain there places or invest in it as a business, so guest local or abroad can have a great experience and stay. Upon entering the premise for that 1 night, Linda checked us in. Bare in mind we checked in late hence that gave ample time For the place to be clean and Air out. Upon entering the room it’s was so musky. In addition it was hot and Ac was not working. In addition no toiletry was noted. The TV doesn’t function and it was just a mess and horrible. For sure I will not be staying here ever.
