The staff was really nice. We got free milk and it was only ¥100 for extra bottles if milk, which are a MUST when taking an onsen. We had a private onsen in our room, but there were also public onsen in the hotel! Everything was super clean and the hotel is located close to the bus-terminal.
Lovely traditional property in a good location in Kusatsu. A great experience with the onsen facility included. The owner could not have been more helpful and friendly, we loved it there. It was nice and peaceful as just outside the centre, but an easy walk in.
This place was a vibe! Gaming consoles in the rooms and common areas, board games, retro toys, puzzles, massage chairs. Overall super cool place. Onsen was awesome. Food was great. Front desk staff was super friendly and spoke English. Parking was right at the place. Highly recommend.
Great hotel! It's located around 10 minutes from the city center by foot, so you can do everything walking. A great plus is the personnel - everyone was really helpful and nice, ready to help whenever needed. Last but not least, the bedrooms were amazing!!! The beds are very confortable and big, the room is spacious and everything was very clean.
And we can’t not mention the private onsens inside the hotel. They are available for the guests, and they are great. We Reallyv recommend this hotel!
The staff at this property is top notch. My friends and I were welcomed warmly, quickly given recommendations in and around Kusatsu, and even provided a complimentary sweet milk, traditionally consumed after an onsen soak.
The facility was very much a labor of love. The private onsens were clean, convenient, and absolutely rejuvenating.
The public areas were intimate, clean, and provided retro video games and board games.
We were even offered complimentary coffee at a coffee shop close to the coin laundry facility (Melbourne Coffee), which we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to use.
Highly recommend this location for any visitors to Kusatsu onsen and can't wait to visit again.
The person at the front desk spoke English very well. This was one of the most unique (in a good way) properties that I stayed at. The room was spotless, and in the traitional Japanese style. It was very large and had a mini SNES with large TV. The window blinds were of the traditional so I woke up early.
There is a game room with some retro games as well as a massage chair.
What I liked the most about this property is that there are three semi-private onsens that can be used. They are public baths that have a locking door.
I would definitely stay again if I come back to Kusatsu!
Our Host was fantastic and had the siga system set up on the tv and bath was ready for wary traveler.
We wish we had booked at least two nights and definately would like to visit for again and for a few nights
Having the choice of three private onsen and one in our room was a bonus
We really like this place. The property and room is like the combo of traditional Japanese and new modern layout. We definitely love the share private onsen. Although is 10mins walk from the town, but it's not a long walk. Furthermore it's out of the busy and noisy central district which is what you need when you have a relaxing holiday in onsen Town.
Very accommodating, excellent service and excellent room. Our room had our own tiny hot spring bath so it was really cool. Also the owner is super friendly, we left our luggage there before check in and they helped us carry it up into our room. It's about 8 min walk to Yubatake (aka the center Kusatsu tourist area).
Facility wise, they have free coffee and water, the owner even gave us milk as present 😊 they also have a super cool game room where they have japanese (childhood?) games.
Had a great weekend stay! My room was extremely clean and well kept. All the staff members were exceedingly kind and went out of their way to be helpful. And the breakfasts were delicious. Highly recommend a stay here!
