We stayed at Bay View Resort in Myrtle Beach for 4 days, and while the location right on the beach is definitely a plus, the experience overall left a lot to be desired.
First, the cleanliness of the pools was disappointing. Some of the pools, especially the indoor ones, didn’t appear to be well-maintained. Also, while they advertise 6 different pools—which include a lazy river, toddler pool, hot tubs, and regular pools—only a few were actually enjoyable due to cleanliness and crowding.
One of the biggest issues we faced was the paper-thin walls. Whatever happened in the next room, we could hear—unfortunately, we had very noisy neighbors and barely got any sleep during our stay.
We also encountered a plumbing problem in one of our rooms. Although maintenance was sent promptly, the plumber couldn't resolve the issue and we had to wait a whole day for a technician to finally fix it.
In our second room, we requested towels multiple times (4-5 times to be exact), and only received fresh ones on Day 3—not ideal when staying in a resort by the beach where showers are frequent.
Another major issue: the elevators. For such a large resort, only 4 elevators are available, and they are extremely slow. We often had to wait 10 minutes or more just to find one with enough space to get on.
Overall, while the location is great, the service and room quality were not up to standard. For the price and the promise of a beachfront resort, we expected a lot more comfort and responsiveness.
