"I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. "

"Overall great location and a lovely little flat. There is also a lovely little patio area at the back (although unfortunately the weather wasn't nice enough to enjoy it) The owner is also very responsive with getting back to any messages Slight negatives - access code wasn't sent in advance (although they did reply immediately when I messaged to request it). "Location was different to what's on the map (it's right next door to the New County Hotel). The apartment was lovely though, looks like it's been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. £250 damage deposit seemed quite excessive. Not sure if they get a lot of trouble as housekeeping also came in during stay but didn't do any cleaning, make beds, or fold towels etc (I only knew they'd been because they folded...
